So long to the quince

Alex POV

I sobbed for a bit in Nick’s arms. As bad as what they did Samantha’s gesture really touched my heart. There is goodness in all my children we just need to find it. Now for the hard part to say goodbye to my babies again. I did this last year and I had to go to the school daily to see them now I have to step back so they can learn from their mistakes so they become the king and queens they need to be for our kingdom. Once I get myself together we all meet in the foyer to head to the cars. The bags are already in the SUV’s time to see them off.

As Nick and I got to the foyer the children started coming downstairs with their bags. Chris, Sammy and Jake walk down with Aurora. It’s a good thing that the school is not far from where he set up his home base in the US; I think his travelling around the world will stop for a while. It was bad enough when he knew Aurora was his mate, but now she knows too he’s not leaving.

Lex is the first to come over. He hugs me and whispers in my ear. “ I’m sorry Mom. I will do better I promise.”

“I know you will.” I smile at Lex.

The girls started to make their way over to us. They hugged me. As I was hugging Mira Alicia went and hugged her father. I heard her say. “I’ll miss you, Daddy.” Then she glared over at me and huffed and walked out the door. The kids were all out and the door shut. “My daughter really hates me that much”

“No, she doesn’t she’s just lashing out.” Nick holds me in his arms for a minute.

“I have to go out there the cars are waiting till I put the appearance spell on them.” I pulled away from Nick and headed outside.

I stand next to the vehicle and swirl my arms purple fills the sky. I command the magic are call out “Species mutatio nobilis casu heredum.” With that, the purple in the air breaks into five ribbons one for each car. As soon as it takes effect I can feel their auras change. I can feel that they made Lex a beta, Mira, Gigi and Samantha were Gammas, and Alicia was a delta. I guess this is the god's plan, I guess they knew it now I can hear Alicia screaming in the car as they pull away.

Nick comes up from behind and wraps his arms around me. Chris, Sammy and Jake walked up by my side. I could see Sammy had been crying I know we always talk about Aurora but her son was gone too as he will be the beta of the shifter kingdom. Marcus was gone too. Chris is trying to comfort her. Chris keeps telling her it is okay because the school is close. As betas to the shifter king, they can walk into any building. They have more power than pack Alphas. They were practically the king and queen till Jake came of age.

“She’ll get over it,” Nick whispered in my ear.

I turn in his arms so I’m facing him. “Let’s go in and get ready for the opening ceremony for the school.”

Nick took my hand and we went inside. We had about 8 hours. So Nick always knows how to take my mind off anything as we get to our bedroom door. “Come my Queen I will worship you.” Nick pulls me into our room kicks the door shut and he is always true to his word.

Alicia POV

I have my bags all packed. Samantha knocks on the door and then opens it. “Time to go.”

“Yay.” I sarcastically say.

Samantha huffs. “Just get over it and come down.” I can’t believe Samantha was short with me like that.

She leaves and I grab my bag and head downstairs. When I look around my siblings are hugging my mother. Why she’s the one that caused this; she is sending us away again.

I sneak by hug my father and glare at my mother. Dad would be so easy to deal with if Mom was gone. No don’t get the wrong idea I am not going to kill my mother. After hugging my Dad I head out to my car. Mom had a car for each of us. Aurora and Marcus shared a car.

I see my siblings get in their vehicles, then I see my mom in the walkway. She started swirling her arms and the sky turned purple. I can see it reaching into each car. Why did Grandpa Zeus, Grandpa Helios and Aunt Selene take away our abilities? All they left us with was our wolves.

“Hey,” Nova called out in my head.

The next thing I know I can feel the change. It takes me a minute. I grab the pocket mirror from my purse. As soon as I see myself I start to scream. I had at least 30 lbs on. Acne scars all over my face, short orange bob and brown eyes, my beautiful purple eyes are gone; I’m hideous. Plus my aura is now a delta. I used to make alphas drop to their knees.

Sitting in the car trying to figure out how I’m going to get out of this. How in the hell could Mom do this to me?

We arrived at the school and I was even madder. The rest of my siblings get out. Lex still gets to be a handsome man and a beta to boot. Then you have Mira's blonde pixie cut, who still has her blue eyes. Lean and a badass gamma. Then there was Gigi's dark shoulder-length hair again she still has her green eyes. Muscle everywhere she’s like a beautiful sss. Samantha has long auburn hair and her eyes match. She’s a gamma but not as lean as the other two. She has my curves while I get to be a slob.

We go inside and I can feel their eyes on me and then snickering at me. I get to our dorm I know it’s Samantha with me as Joy is on the door. I look across the hall at the dorm. I see Gina and Janelle. I know those are Mira and Gigi’s wolves.

Samantha comes into the room and starts to unpack. “Really you are not going to talk to me?”

“What is there to talk about Nova, we made this mess now we suffer the consequences.” Samantha snaps back.

“We don’t deserve this punishment.” I scoff.

“Alicia do you know what the punishment is for harassing, abusing and mistreating an omega is.” Samantha sighs and shakes her head.

“Why would I care I will be Queen someday.” You could hear the disdain in my voice.

“For the love of Zeus Mom let us off easy,” Samantha shouts. “The punishment in the kingdom for mistreating an omega is six months in the dungeon. Would you rather be in the dungeon where all you can smell is blood and fecal matter? Hearing screams from torture and being tortured yourself. I really can’t believe you. Hate mom all you want but I won’t, I’m grateful she did this I’d rather spend another year and a year kingdom hopping than six months in the dungeon.”

I didn’t know it was six months in the dungeon. Dad may be King now but he still has that gamma spirit no one could torture you like a gamma, not even an alpha. So imagine being tortured by a gamma king. Dad would get a glint in his eyes when he goes to the dungeon, then Mom and him disappear for a few hours. I’m sure Dad wouldn’t torture us but Andy, Andy is the best Gamma in the world in any species. He wouldn’t want to but he would as it’s his job.

I pack my stuff in the dresser, Samantha and I are in the room in silence. I know when she’s mad so I do not talk to her. A couple of hours later I hear a knock on the door. I opened it, it was Gigi telling us to get ready for the opening dinner. I look in the closet to grab the dresses that I saw in the closet unpacking. Then I think none of my clothes will fit me with the size I am now. I started stripping off my clothes to change; I grabbed a pair of underwear and looked at them, size XL how does she do it she got our clothes to reflect our size. I checked the rest of my clothes and their sizes were all changed.

There was a beautiful blue dress for me and a red dress for Samantha. Mine was strapless with sequins and Samantha’s dress was sleeveless with about 2-inch straps. See when the King and Queen come it’s a ball. Everyone is on their best behaviour. No one wants to piss off the royal couple.

The five of us walk downstairs together. The way it is now Lex is the beta, Samantha is the Gamma and I’m the delta heir of the white claw pack. It’s in Alaska so no one will ask questions. Mira and Gigi were also from remote packs.

Of course, at these balls, all seating is arranged seating. It was arranged so we were all sitting together. Plus an Alpha, Beta and Gamma from another pack.

We have all known the soon-to-be Alpha Todd all of our lives. His father has the largest pack next to Uncle Alpha. Todd is only a few months younger than us; we were always flirting with each other, even made out a few times but he knew I was waiting for my mate. We always hoped we would be mates, I may or may not have prayed to the goddess for that. Beta John and Gamma Mark were the same age as Todd.

They were whispering something as we sat down. As soon as we do the headmaster announces Mom and Dad.

“How much longer are these two going to be on the throne? Letting insignificant packs here; I can’t wait for Alicia to take over all of these packs will no longer be in the kingdom. Hillbillies.” Todd scoffed.

Well, it doesn’t take much to set Lex off but that was it. Lex stands. “ Who are you calling a hillbilly Alpha. You want to go to the training ground and see how much of a hillbilly I am.”

“Is that a challenge Beta?” Todd now standing.

“You can take it for what it is Alpha. Are you fit for that title calling five people you never met hillbillies because they are in a remote pack? Come to my Pack sometime you’ll see. We don’t waste money on frivolous things, ours goes into security and training so please come at me.” Onyx may be a beta right now but he’s a strong one. Most of the room is bearing their necks. “And remember Princess Alicia is only one out of five voices.

“All of you behave. I told you you would see how most people live.” Mom sends it through the mind link.

Mom may have sent it through the link Dad however was not having anyone disrespect his children. “Future Alpha Todd do you have a problem with remote packs? As Moon River is the second largest pack I expect better. I will have to question whether your father shares the same beliefs as he is a member of the Wolf Council.” Now everyone bearing their necks.

“No, your Majesty. My apologies to you well the five of you and of course your Majesties.” Todd slunk back in his chair.

We ate Mom and Dad went on with their speeches but one part of her speech had the whole school up in arms. “After the young alpha’s misunderstanding.” Mom glared at Todd. “My suspicions I think are founded that higher ranked members are bullying lower ranked or supposed status of their pack, even my own children. So let it be known I have my own eyes and ears in here this year. You may have been born into your titles but you can have them taken away.” Mother knows how to silence a crowd, doesn’t she?

After dinner Mom and Dad went home, leaving the five of us there. The school has a bonfire after the opening; so we went and got changed and went down Lex found Hope and the others mingled throughout the crowd.

“Who does that damn Beta think he is threatening me.” I could hear Todd. “He’ll see when he gets what I have coming for him. And those girls I mean come on. One of the Gammas is not bad-looking. I’d do her and dump her but the others. Especially the fat one I mean in that dress it looked like squeezing a sausage. If a thread would have let go you would have released the blob. That truly would be slap the fat and ride the wave.” I couldn’t believe these words were coming out of his mouth about me. I heard him say this before hell I was with him when we did it together. But I gotta say it hurts.

I went to walk away but the three of them saw me. “Well, well, well what do we have here boys?” They all snicker. “I didn’t know whales could survive out of water.” All I could do was stand there and take it I was in shock I wanted this man to be my mate. “Delta whale what do you think boys?”

“Sounds good Alpha but I think she looks more like a loaf of bread.” John snickers.

They started circling me. “I mean how can anyone be so ugly? The moon goddess must really hate you. I think she hates you so much we bring you out to the boundary, tie you up and let the rogues have you.” Fear courses through my body as he says that. I no longer have my powers I couldn’t fight them.

“Is there a reason you are harassing my delta Alpha,” Onyx growls at them Hope with him.

“You again. Mind your business, and Princess Hope aren’t you Prince Lex’s mate? How would he feel about you being here with another man.” He smirked thinking he had the upper hand.

“I do believe that was a threat Onyx you? I should really get in contact with my Prince and see what punishment I can give out for that. And listen and listen good pissant.” Hope's eyes glowed the same colour as lava. “ There’s no secrets between me and my king so please do your worse but don’t leave out the part where you think I was screwing around with Onyx.”

“As for me well you are harassing a pack member. I don’t know what you do at Moon River but in my pack, we protect pack members. Come on Nova let’s go.” Lex may be ranked beta right now but he let them know who’s in charge. He put his arm around me and we walked away.

“I guess you see now the errors of your ways. Hanging out with that no good alpha Nova.” Lex said as we got back inside.

“It’s Mom's fault. If he knew it was me he wouldn’t treat me like that. Look at me I am hideous.” I screeched.

“Wow, you will never learn.” Onyx shook his head, and then he and Hope walked away.

I went to bed and cried myself to sleep.
