The next morning

Alicia POV

I wake in the morning alone for the first time in well ever. Samantha and I have been inseparable since birth. She’s just upset, everyone is upset around here once we get to school she will be okay and everything will be back to normal. I got to breakfast Mom was not there Amy had breakfast ready for us. I’m going to miss her cooking and her cookies. It’s a good thing I’m a mix of supernatural creatures the wolf and vampire in me keeps me trim. Not skinny but fit.

My brother and his mate come in followed by Mira then Gigi. Samantha is nowhere to be found. Wonder where she is too. Jake had to go back to his castle to get ready for the academy. He is also a very strong wizard so he can portal back and forth. I know Maverick is strong but I think his witch side is stronger which is strange in males.

We eat in uncomfortable silence I can’t believe I’m the only one mad at this. Everyone is walking around like their dog died because Mom is upset. She deserved what she got I don’t care what she says or what people think. God knows that could only be a story to spin for Dad when they got together so he didn’t reject her. With that thunder strikes what happen now Dad is pissed off.

“I can read your thoughts my ungrateful daughter and so can your mother.” Finn’s voice breaks through the link.

“I keep telling you that but you don’t listen to me. Daddy, I’m sorry.” Nova says to me and then Finn.

“You keep disappointing me, Alicia.” Dad sighs and cuts me off.

“You never learn do you?” Lex glares at me.

“Sorry, I can’t be the perfect son like you.” I scoff.

“And there it is right there your problem, your entitled attitude. You are not better than everyone else. You don’t get to hurt people because you are some demigod hybrid princess.” Lex yells and Mira and Gigi pile on to his words.

“Fine, I’m going to my room till we leave. We only went there last year now again.” I walk off.

“This time you won’t be royalty” Lex calls after me. I go to my room and slam the door, I can’t wait to get out of this house.

Nick POV

Alex and I finally came home last night around two. She went to the academy to set everything up and of course she portals to Canada to her hill. We kept the land in Canada, we rebuilt exactly how it was built in the first place. I can feel the distress rolling off her but her thoughts are all over the place right now. I just held her in my arms and kept telling her everything was okay. No matter how strong she is there are times she reverts back to the scared girl from Southsberg. No amount of therapy will take those memories and feelings away.

I’m just looking at Alex lying on my chest. I love her more and more every day. She is still the most beautiful woman in the world. No one else holds a candle to her.

“You are creeping me out,” Alex muttered.

“That’s what happens when I have the most beautiful creature on the planet in my arms.” I smile at her.

“I think you get cheesier every day I swear,” Alex smirks.

“Well I will have to do something about that won’t I.” I roll us over so I’m on top of her beautiful naked body. Almost 19 years later her body is still smoking hot. I lean down and give her a long, slow, passionate kiss. I trail my hand down her body taking my time to feel every inch with my hands and then I’m going to taste my Queen, then make love to her. I bite her bottom lip and then pull on it. She made a small moan that was all I needed. I started kissing down her neck paying some much-needed extra attention to her mark. Her arousal fills the air, I keep working my way down catching her right n****e with my teeth, then.

Knock, knock, knock. I sigh, and Alex laughs. “Unless the kingdom is on fire go away.” My head was on Alex’s stomach and started kissing my way down again.

Knock, knock, knock. “Kids have to be there in two hours,” Koa yells through the door and walks away. Koa knows what’s going on in here he’s covered for me lots to come ravish my queen.

Ugg I know what this means. “Okay, we have to get up.” Alex smiles at me.

“Five more minutes.” I sulk.

“Sometimes you are worse than the children.” Alex laughs and wiggles out from under me and heads for the shower of course I join her but she won’t let any funny business happen. I’m just glad I made her laugh. What the girls said yesterday has taken a toll on her even if she doesn’t show it. We get out I get ready first and tell Alex I will meet her in my office for breakfast.

I want to know what the kids are thinking. Finn can hear thoughts the same as Elle now. “Everyone is walking around like their dog died because mom is upset. She deserved what she got I don’t care what she says or what people think. God knows that could only be a story to spin for Dad when they got together so he didn’t reject her.” With that thunder claps and lightning strikes. How did this happen, my little princess? She and Samantha spent so much time with their mother that I thought we were going to have a butterfly sanctuary with all the butterflies they had Alex conjure up. I just don’t know when she went from a sweet little girl to a cruel woman.

Finn cut in on her thoughts “I can read your thoughts my ungrateful daughter and so can your mother.”

“I keep telling you that but you don’t listen to me. Daddy, I’m sorry.” Nova says to Alicia and then Finn.

“You keep disappointing me, Alicia.” I sigh and cut the link.

Alex walks in I can see unshed tears in her eyes. I get up and wrap my arms around her. She breaks down in my arms. Every one of her sobs breaks my heart. I pull her down to the couch and just hold her. She finally looks at me. “Was I a bad mother?” She breaks down in sobs.

“No baby you are an excellent mother, it’s a faze Hopefully they will learn from this I know the rest have. Have you tapped into Samantha's thoughts lately? She feels horrible about what she has done and wants to do anything to make it better. The other three accepted their punishment right away and welcomed this as an opportunity to be better leaders. No, my darling she’s just misguided right now and she will come around you will see.” I reassured her.

“Your food is here your Majesty.” Amy links

“Just leave the cart Amy I will get it back to you later.” I link back. I wait for a minute before I go get the tray. Alex just shakes her head she is not hungry.

I leave the food on my desk and I go back to the couch and hold her in my arms.

Knock, knock, knock. “Daddy can I come in I want to talk to you about something,” Samantha called through the door. Alex cleans up her face with some magic before I tell her to come in. “ Oh, Mom you are here.”

“What did you want to talk about Samantha?” I ask.

“Well.” Samantha hums and pauses.

“I want the baby Samantha, not the labour.” I know I’m being short with them but they have hurt my queen terribly.

“I well…” Samantha starts.

I huff out “ Samantha.” I cannot see my mate hurt any more than she is.

“Dad I’m trying to be sensitive to Mom this is a harsh subject.” Samantha snaps before walking over to her mother and takes her hand.

“Mom what you went through was horrible and no wolf, witch, vampire fae; no one should have to.” Samantha started welling up.

“Yes Samantha what Stephan did to me was horrible and I have to find ways to get through that every day. We never told you guys for that reason I do not want my children walking on eggshells.” Alex explains to her. “I managed to get out from Stephan and yes life was rough but I persevered through it and my life turned out good. I have six beautiful children and a mate who loves me more than anything or at least I like to think he does.” Alex winks at me.

“He does. You and the kids are all that matter.” I tell her, I know she knows how much I love her we had a rough start but I have tried to make up for it every day of my life. I was truly blessed by the goddess with my mate.

“Samantha I have gotten past it and we have tried to make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Alex finishes.

“Mom that’s where I want to help. I want you to take my car and sell it and take my allowances and now that I’m eighteen I get a salary as now I work for the kingdom. I want you to take it all. I want you to put it into a shelter. I know we have shelters but I want to build one for people who are like you; you were lucky enough to have money most are not; most have nothing. I want to build a shelter for women who have children who were in your situation, who have no way out and this is a way to help them. I want there to be a dedicated line women can call or a person they can link to get help. I want a team of warriors that can extract them from their situation, without their fated or chosen mate finding them. A place where people don’t know their location. I want a children’s centre on it so they can be cared for so the women can get help and not worry about someone hurting their children. Also, an alpha unit that investigates just domestic abuse.” Samantha explained her idea, we have women's shelters around the kingdom but I’m glad she wants to help. I couldn’t be more proud and I can feel Alex’s emotions they’re the same as mine.

“Princess that is a wonderful idea,” I say sitting at my desk before I can get up Alex has her arms wrapped around our daughter hugging her tight. I get up and sit next to Samantha and hug them both. The girl’s cry and well I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t teary-eyed.

I let go and Samantha stood up. “I’m going to go get my bag and get ready.” She walks to the door and turns before she leaves. “Mom you are right you know; we need this. I will take my time to learn to lead this kingdom. I should have listened the first time I won’t fail you both again.”

As the door shuts I know what’s about to happen. I wrap Alex in my arms as soon as the door clicks Alex is crying. I just hold her for a minute. “See I told you they were learning.” I pulled back and smiled at her. Well, five out of six anyway. I sit there with Alex for a few minutes before we get up to leave my office and see the kids off.

Alex POV

The school the day before.

After a massive blow-up with my children, everything coming out about Stephan and the way they treated that poor girl, her wolf must have wanted to rip them apart.

“ Yeah Ginger wasn’t happy but I told her we would make it up to her.” Elle snorts. “I wanted to kick Nova’s ass right there.”

“We need to get to the school talk to the headmaster and get this set up,” I tell Elle.

I open a portal to get me into the academy. No one was expecting me and intake is tomorrow so it’s busy here. Nick and I are to speak here tomorrow night. King and Queen encouraging new leaders. It took all of us a while to get some of the old vampire and witch covens to come around but they did. A couple of small battles but after what we went through it was nothing.

I go to look for Wilfred Bryan headmaster at Blood Moonlight. It was the supernatural leadership school. I guess someone finally noticed me as trumpets started to play and people started bowing to me.

Next thing I see an old man running towards me. He’s a hybrid wolf/wizard. He has also been fighting the fight my grandparents did only before them. He was hidden for a lot of years. It wasn’t till my grandparents started fighting the kingdoms on mixed mating he helped lead the charge with them. “Your Majesty I didn’t realize you were coming today, I would have met you immediately as you arrived.”

“ I only just got here headmaster.” I assured him I just got there. “ we need to meet in your office for a moment. I need to discuss some events that are happening with you.”

“ We will meet in my office right away Your Majesty.” The Headmaster escorted me to his office.

We got to this office and he offered me his chair. I don’t get off on this whole hierarchy crap. I walk to the couch in his office and sit down. “ Headmaster, I know you’re busy so we will get right down to business. My children were here last year for their royalty training. Obviously, it did not work with the incident we had yesterday at the castle. Tomorrow I will be sending the five of them back here but they will not look as they do, or no one will know them as who they are, their grandmother and I have come up with a potion that will make them damn look differently, and will change their aura’s. So people will not know them as royalty. They will know them as regular Alpha, Gamma, and Delta’s, most likely we will rank them deltas as they need to learn respect and also how some people of higher rank treat their lower ranked, ranked members. They will go by their wolf's first name and they will have the last name Malone. I will make it look like they are from different packs. I will block their other powers they will all train as wolves.” I informed him.

“ Your Majesty Lex’s wolf has a unique name. I fear that people will know when they hear the name Onyx they will know it’s the hybrid prince.” Head Master Bryan voiced his concerns.

“ Don’t worry about that, the way that Lex will look no one will come close to suspecting that it is the Demigod Prince,” I tell the headmaster. “They will arrive tomorrow with all of the new students as usual Nick and I will come for our speeches and welcome them and our normal spiel. But headmaster when I say no special treatment I mean it. The quince learned nothing from last year this year I expect them to learn double; Understood?”

“Yes, your Majesty.” He bowed knowing I was not happy with what happened last year. My children came home worse than when they came. I despise getting special treatment because of who you are. We are all equal in that right, I may be a queen but I am still no better than anyone else.

“I will see you tomorrow Head Master,” I said, he bowed and I made a portal and got out of there and went right to my happy place. My cabin in Canada. As soon as I got there I pulled the ATV out, got on and went for a ride. There’s nothing that can clear your head like a ride in the woods. It’s freeing it’s not all about being some super being sometimes it’s nice to feel normal again even if it is for a second.

I go to my spot there is nothing better than this spot to think. Over the years Nick has made this a nice little place. I still sit on my rock from time to time but Nick has put in a seating area up here. Nice white outdoor furniture, a swing egg chair for me. I had to enchant the place so no one could take or beat up the stuff he put here. It was one part of my gift for our first anniversary. I still can’t believe after all these years he still puts up with me. Somewhere in the back of my mind I always wonder when the switch is going to flip.

“It’s not.” I hear a sexy, deep and as he ages more gravelly voice behind me. I turn around to see the love of my life. Nick wraps his arms around me and gives me the most gentle kiss. “You are my wife, best friend, my mate, my life. I love you more than anything my Queen I couldn’t survive without you.” This man professes his love to me every day.

“I’m the luckiest woman in the world do you know that.” He goes to speak and I place my finger on his lips. “I don’t know what I ever did to deserve you but I thank the goddess every day I am with you and will for all the days of our lives.” I remove my finger and pull Nick down for a kiss, it gets heated fast.

The next thing I hear is “hum hum.” A woman’s voice that is all so familiar to me.

“Did my niece just thank me the cruel moon goddess?” Selene laughs.

“I got lucky but not everyone does.” I glared at her.

“Everything happens for a reason and I cannot interfere.” Selene smiles.

“Only give very pointed suggestions.” I laugh.

“If Helios wants to keep the sun up till almost dawn what can I do? Last I checked the sun is much brighter than the moon.” She quips.

“Okay, Auntie. Not that it’s not nice seeing you but why are you here right now you don’t normally come for a visit.”

“Direct as always niece. Yes, there’s a reason I came. Times are going to get tough again not so much for you two but for your children.” Selene stated.

“What are you going to do to my children?” Nick’s eyes flashed lightning. To him, that was a threat against his children.

“You may be Zeus's son but don’t you ever use that tone with me.” Selene snaps. “I love those children as much as you do. You had to realize from the prophecy that it didn’t end with you too. More things are to happen. Your children will struggle but they will be better for it.”

“If they make it as you always say there are no guarantees. There are so many alternate realities which one is right. Poor Jake has been seeing them all of his life and that’s Maverick holding them back.” I growled but she was right in their position they will always have some battle or someone coming after them. Nick and I just had our worst in the beginning so the other stuff was nothing to worry about.

“True but there you go with what-ifs again. Two of you go home and say goodbye to your kids before they leave.” Selene advises us and disappears.

“It’s getting late baby. The kids were worried when you weren’t at dinner.” Nick gives me a tight smile.

“We should go home after tomorrow morning I have a feeling life is going to get crazy for a while again.” I sigh Nick gives me a look. “The moon goddess doesn’t show up for chit-chat, something is up.”

Nick wrapped one arm around my waist pulling me closer, he took my face in his other hand. “A problem for tomorrow my Queen.” With that, his lips were on mine. “Now before we go where were we before we were interrupted.” Let’s just say we didn’t get home right away.
