“I don’t know where she was going, but Sarah said she’d be back in a little while,” Mike offered, leaning away from his computer. Matt shook his head. “Damn! Guess I’ll get started on my work, then.” Matt peered out the front window and scanned the parking lot. Sarah’s car was indeed missing and Matt felt irritated. He wanted to end their discussion, not drive her from the apartment. He hadn’t seen Sarah for three days and didn’t like the fact she’d taken off alone. Annoyed with the whole situation, Matt returned to their bedroom. He could not get his mind off Sarah and their conversation, though. Matt felt she had acted unfairly putting him on the spot. After all, she had a ring on her finger. They’d get married in due time. The longer she was gone, though, the more he began to worry.
