We were surprised how quickly the long line went down. Of course, we learned why, as information from inside, was fed back down the line, as to what happened to each act. Evidently, there were quite a few sixty-second wonders. When we were closer to the entrance, the young woman, we had talked to earlier, handed us a pencil and a five by seven card. She told us to fill it out. It asked the usual stuff, name, address, what your act was, etc. We filled it out but didn’t mention we were students at the Hollywood School of Theatre Arts.
As the line moved, I thought of all the sixty-second and out acts, which had gone before us. “Christ Gumps, we got to last at least a couple of minutes. I don’t want to be one of the sixty-second, and you’re out of here acts.”
