Somehow the room full of people at Ramsgill Observatory had grown used to the brooding presence of the ombudsman. After Luke had relieved his bladder he had gone around the building imparting the news of the ombudsman’s arrival, and of the talking rabbits. This had resulted in the die-hard, skeleton staff, deserting their monitoring posts and slipping into the TV room, their cautious but hungry eyes drinking-in the alien’s appearance.
