The Prime Minister sat in her Downing Street office all morning, listening to the latest updates from various ministers, military chiefs, and special advisers. The ombudsmen were now being referred to as the Vox Lagomorpha by academics and The Vox by anyone who thought themselves even vaguely hip. They were ranging out from the original spaceship across France, and from the two new spaceships across North America, across Asia and even to Australia.
There had been no unprovoked attacks by the ombudsman, but their skills were sowing terror and division wherever they went. Animal rights activists wearing balaclava helmets were marching shoulder to hip with their new alien heroes; other human factions objected to this, seeing it as a form of collaboration, and there were violent altercations
