The Prime Minister was prepared to be ‘on camera’, and broadcast globally, in the event of any appearance of the extraterrestrials or other attempts at communication.
All governments were wired-in via the United Nations, and the leaders of one hundred and ninety-three sovereign states stood by with baited breath and as many specialist advisers as they could squeeze in the room with them. No one wanted to look a fool, because the live-feed would be beamed-forth around Earth via the good old BBC.
