No!” Shouting as I stood to oppose
It's impossible” I shouted, not letting the gripping fear that caught my heart have my lips sealed too
Everyone turned to look at me, some Elders gave me a look of disdain and even disgust
Especially Ryker—a promising Beta
He seems to think he has a chance eh?
To get my Mates throne
Impossible!
Over my dead body…
“Why do you reject the Words of the Elders”Elder Thian said as he flared up since it was his idea to begin with so he couldn't bear having me ruin his image or so they call it?
“Our Alpha hasn't be confirmed dead
It's Treason to appoint another”I pleaded
The other elders murmured amongst them selves as my words threw a wave of caution into their circle
I breathe in relief, Riven , can you see this
You owe me one.
I wished I had my wolf already when we you chose me maybe these council of old demons would have respected me a bit more
And most importantly…maybe you would have finally had me
I would be made whole with your touch I crave to mate you my love
“What do you speak of you fake blooded b***h! Treason? Eh? Wasn't it Treason to have you leave with out Alpha only for you to return. You dare speak of such words
Why not wash your mouth before kill of of your stinking foolishness” he said in crushing disdain
I seem to lose my self as I almost slipped and fell
And then
“We should even have her removed From her role as Luna, what's the use of a Luna without her mate”
What Luna do you speak of? Ever heard of a Luna that lacks a wolf of her own
Pfft hahaha
Laughter streams through the crowd as I watched the Elders and their confidants mock me, the one that started this was an elder with long but neat beards.
He was the one one Elder Thian signaled before proceeding with his declaration
I clenched my fist with my head down to my feets
As I sobbed
Riven oh Riven
How much I wish I could punch you and hug you at the same time
Why would you claim you love yet you left me in the hands of this demons that feed in my sorrow to bliss up
Silence” a resounding Voice could be heard from beside me
Riven..?
No..Grand..
“You shouldn't oppose the will of Alpha, and Luna is his bonafide mate and amd unless she can't turn to wolf on this full moon would she been rid off, “Understood”
Elder Thorne said in a justified dominative voice .
“Yes Grand Elder” All elders responded humbled by his tone
“As for the Alpha coronation…
It shall begin now”
….
I stood at the edge of the gathering, my eyes scanning the hopefuls vying for the position of Regent Alpha. The pack's elders had deemed it necessary to choose a new leader, despite my protests.
This is impossible
Riven isn't Dead…right?
I asked myself
A selection process occurred with the Woldbreds nominating their best peak of picks
There were six contestants and three challenges: hunting, combat and strategy.
Larin, the cunning hunter, stalked his prey with ease, taking down a swift deer. Ryker and Kaida followed closely, their hunting skills were impressive but falls short to compared to the expert. Thane struggled, his brute force scaring off the preys along the way and since he can't even sneak well he has a hard time Kael and Varda fared poorly, their diplomatic nature ill-suited for the hunt.
But none is like my Riven… this wolves are all flawed
Thane, the brutish enforcer, dominated the combat arena, overpowering his opponents. Kaida and Ryker exchanged blows, their agility and strength evenly matched. Larin's cunning proved ineffective against Thane's brute force. Kael and Varda conceded, acknowledging Thane's superiority.
But it still doesn't match the domineering aura Of Riven moon
Kael and Varda excelled in strategy, navigating the complex maze with ease. Kaida and Ryker followed, their adaptability serving them well. Thane and Larin struggled, their impulsive nature hindering their progress.
As expected Riven…surpasses all
The pack's elders reviewed the results, narrowing the selection to three: Ryker, Kaida and Thane.
And then the Elders Evaluation part came next.
The trio faced the Council of Elders, answering questions and showcasing their leadership skills. Thane faltered, his aggression deemed unsuitable for leadership. Ryker and Kaida advanced, their visions for the pack's future impressing the Council.
The moonlit clearing hosted the duel. Ryker, swift and agile, clashed with Kaida, calculated and powerful. The pack watched, transfixed, as the two wolves exchanged blows.
Ryker's speed proved no match for Kaida's strategic mind. Kaida landed a decisive blow, pinning Ryker to the ground.
The pack's elders declared the final test: retrieving the ancient Marble Ball of Leadership from the pedestal in the center of the clearing. The first to deliver it to Elder Lyra would become Regent Alpha.
Kaida and Ryker faced off, their eyes locked on the pedestal. The marble ball gleamed, bathed in moonlight. Then almost at the same time, the two wolves charged forward in hybrid form—werewolf form in humanoid state
Their battle raged with claw swipes and crushing smashes,
Kaida got aggressive with time while Ryker ended up defending more and more.
As the pack watched anxiously. In a few more blows, Kaida emerged victorious, his body battered but unbroken. He crawled towards the pedestal, his eyes fixed on the marble bone ball.
Drawing closer…and closer
But..
Just as his paw was about reaching for the ball, a hand grasped it, with a firm and tight hurtful grip. The pack gasped in shock.
Who dares invade on the ceremony
Is he mad? They rumored
Kaida gritted his teeth as he struggles to stand but fails with a stump of the intruders feet
A man with an aura of a supreme wolf stood before us, his eyes blazing with intensity. "No one steals my throne, even in death. Not you, Kaida. Not anyone."
He said
His paw crushed Kaida's while at it, pinning him to the ground. The pack's gasp turned to shock.
My love…
I stood up from my seat in tremblings
Riven…has returned..
And the changes he would bring are infinite.
