Nicole was tidying up the kitchen area of the cafe, expecting to leave shortly. She knew the dinner with her parents would be starting in two hours, and she wanted to go home and freshen up before arriving. After all, she had seen a dead body that morning, and the stress of the day had taken a toll on her. Her muscles were tense and she hoped the hot water might help them loosen a bit. Perhaps the shower could even help her feel more relaxed since she wasn’t quite sure how she was going to handle her new beau, Dean, being in the same room again as her ex-fiance, Luke.
