Chapter 6
“Don’t blow this, Dwight. I’m giving you a second chance,” said the police chief, Commissioner Melvin Van Stone, before he took a sip out of his coffee mug.
Dwight gritted his teeth, still looking down at his desk at the Rosewood Police Station. Just as he raised his head to meet the commissioner’s gaze, however, he forced a Mona Lisa smile. “No, chief. I got this. I think it’s the reporter, Danielle Pruitt, and I’m working out the details now.”
“What do you mean you think it’s the reporter, Danielle Pruitt?” asked the chief with a raised eyebrow.
“Well, she certainly had motive. I heard she hated Stuart since he always got the good articles. And, she certainly doesn’t like that owner of the Cannoli Cafe, Nicole. She has a love interest in Nicole’s man, Dean Coogan,” Dwight s
