Chapter 12
When Sarah walked into the library, she noticed everybody was out of sorts. It was absolute chaos at the front desk. Over to the right of the desk, however, Sarah noticed a familiar face.
“Hello, Sarah, can you come over here? You're working today?” asked Ms. Jones, one of the women from the back office, where they did all the behind-the-scenes work such as organizing the incoming books and laminating the paperbacks.
“Yes, Mrs. Donnelly is expecting me.”
“I'm sorry, Sarah. With everything going on the last few days, I think there were some schedule mixups. Mrs. Donnelly had to go into town to see the mayor, and we already brought a few pages in to put away the books in the children’s department.” Ms. Jones walked over to some carts and pushed them in Sarah’s direction. “But
