Isis was afraid even to sleep in the anxiety that if the demons came back for her once more. The charms were ineffective to their power of call, which was pretty evident from last night but she was so tired. Her eyes were burning from reading the old dusty scriptures, that too mostly handwritten and her eye-lids had become as heavy as lead. It was not possible for her to stay awake any longer and she flopped down on her bed and immediately fell asleep, as if someone was waiting for her to get submerged in the world of sub-conscious. As soon as she was asleep Isis was taken to a place in her dreams which she had never seen before. It was a cottage in the middle of nowhere. A woman as lying there heavily pregnant and about to give birth and her mother was moving around hustling and bustling all over and fussing over at the lady who was pregnant and she was speaking to someone who could not be seen. “Where from did you get this woman? Ruriel she looks older than Jesus himself,” exclaimed Julia looking at her. The man whom she referred as Ruriel looked at Julia and said, ”Beggars cannot be choosers is an English saying which I am not all fond of but that does not mean that my condition at the moment is far more different from it. Where from am I going to get a mid-wife in this middle of nowhere?” “You have done great darling,” piped up Cattaleya from the bed and continued,” Freya says that you have brought a half witchling.” Ruriel looked at her as if she has lost her mind but then with sorceresses anything was possible this he had felt in this short time he had with his life. They could make anything out of nothing and the Ruriel registered that there was a music playing in the background and the temperature of the room was far colder than normal. “Who is exactly playing the harp and singing?” he asked finding no one in the vicinity and there were no musical instruments in the room in his knowledge. “Yes, there is a spirit in this room playing Spanish music and singing along with it, to keep your daughters strangling each other. Now please,” and before she could finish the statement there was another scream from Cattaleya’s  throat indicating another contraction. As Julia applied the potion on her stomach again, she asked,” We would not lie to you woman. We are sorceresses and my sister is having twins. We need help with the birthing, are you ready to give that? Do not worry, you will be well-furnished for the rest of your life. That I can assure you.” “I have no doubts about that Misssus. I shall be happy to help. But what about this devil with an angel’s face over here?” she asked looking at Ruriel. “This one is no angel at all. He has said that he will drink all my blood if I was not ready to come with him,” continued the witchling. “Ruriel, seriously???” asked Julia in amazement. “Bribery did not work, so coercion was the only option that was left so as to bring her here. I did not have much time with her writhing in pain over here,” said Ruriel defensively. “That does not mean that you have scare the woman like that. Now get the hell out of here and stay there until I call you or you hear the cries of the babies,” fumed Julia as she beckoned the woman beside her. And in the meanwhile the potion whose main function was to enhance the birthing process to make it faster and easier had already started doing its job and the amniotic sac broke. Then started the grueling process of birthing of the babies. The midwife was so puzzled that she could not get the hold of any one head because she could see that the babies were jostling inside so as almost she got the feeling that they were fighting to come out first. “I can’t take this anymore Freya. Please for heaven’s sake shut up and let her do her job,” said Cattaleya in a considerably tired voice and just like that everything fell still. The witchling took hold of one single head and pulled out and the rest two children swam out themselves behind her with their umbilical cords were all tied up together making it very difficult to severe them. “I cannot hear her cries,” sat up Cattaleya holding Julia’s hands with her face and palms all sweaty. “This one has not made it Missus. I cannot find a heartbeat,” said the midwife as she handed over a dark haired girl to Cattaleya. “My angel of Death is being tested by Death himself. But do not worry sweet thing. I am not going to let him take you away from me so soon,” said Cattaleya kissing the crown of the head of the blue tinged child with a wave of dark midnight black hair on her head. She closed her eyes and reached out to the power which was numb inside her from the pain that she had been facing for the past few hours. “Laelia,” she whispered in her breath pronouncing her name for the first time. This was not the name that was to be used for her regular calling but this was the name that she had to gain, she had to achieve when she was sixteen, when she came of power and just like that she found her first-born hanging and floating around at the door of death just hovering waiting for the death’s door to open when her mother puller back by her arm and brought her back to this world once more and her precious baby opened her eyes and let out a wail. “Holy mother of God, this child is alive too. Missus, you are a hell of a woman giving birth to three babes at the same time,” said the mid-wife as Julia bathed and cleaned the babies and swaddled them in clothes. Cattaleya looked at her sister and nodded as if saying to bring her children over to her. The babies born together, not one minute ahead and not one minute lesser. They are going to be connected through their hearts and mind for their whole lives. One breathe shared in two bodies. She took hold of both of them in her arms handing over her crying child to Julia who was standing before her. Freya and Daphne. One with the hair as pale and shining as the full moon and one with her hair as red as the flames of the licking fire and they both opened their eyes at the same instant and looked at Cattaleya making her heart swell. She would be holding them for the first and last time tonight. Freya, named after one Goddess with the power of another and Daphne named after the love of Apollo, the dew drop which is eternal. Freya’s blue eyes were filled with defiance and mischief and Daphne’s brown eyes speckled with gold only had a steely resolve and love in them. Cattaleya could only hope that she had done the right thing and made the right choice in giving the child to whom and her dark angel had her green eyes. The next in line Necromancer after her. “Call Ruriel Julia. He needs to hold his children for once in his life like me,” said Cattaleya softly cooing to her babies. Ruriel came inside with his vision swimming with tears which had formed and a smile on his lips which could brighten the darkest night. “Our daughters….” Said Cattaleya in an awkward silence not knowing what she was supposed to say. Ruriel took all of them in his arms and whispered something to them in Russian which she did not know what he meant but Julia whispered to her. “You are even rarest than the rare jewels found deep inside this earth, you are my sun in this life condemned to eternal darkness and you my darling are my only ocean which is hidden your eyes,” she translated. Ruriel was speaking to his three daughters saying to them only what he saw in their eyes and that was the truth. His love for all of them was so pure that Cattaleya’s head hurt and her heart was on the verge of bursting out just hearing what he was trying to mean to his daughters. Ruriel looked up at her and said, ”Tell me about them and what they mean to this whole world before I have to give them up to you and her. Tell me what they will become, and tell me what they need to be in order to be…” “Shushhhhh…. I shall tell you everything… Just calm down and sit here,” said Cattaleya patting the bed beside her. “They are a medical rarity. All the three twins are look alikes of each other, I mean they are identical to each other except their hair and their eye colour, but their personalities and environment are the factors that will shape them into who they are about to become and what impact they would be having in shaping the Earth,” said Cattaleya looking at her kids fondly. “I have no doubt that these babes are ready to leave their mark on Earth. Laelia and Daphne are supposed to be out of the focus zone and Freya will be also so, automatically since she will be staying at my in-law’s place but she is going to a tough thing to handle,” said Julia. “Daphne needs to be shaped into a warrior Ruriel. Make sure of it, and show her no mercy and cut her no slack. She needs to become the deadliest assassin that our world will ever see,” pronounced Cattaleya without even blinking her eyes or thinking that she was saying this for her newly born child. “I think it is high time that we get going on our ways to separate homes which have been readied for our arrivals,” said Ruriel who picked up a sleeping Daphne in his arms and kissed Cattaleya on the lips and went out of the cottage. “Do not worry, Leya. He is a man of his word and Daphne is going to make you proud,” said Julia as she picked up a still gurgling Freya in her arms and bundled her up since she might get hurt from the spirit travel. “Julie, never ever let anyone know about Daphne. And specially not Aunt Brassia. Rather Grandmother Brassia,” said Cattaleya as she rose up with sleeping Laelia in her arms and Hugged them both tight and hand in hand both the sisters went out to the forest and found the darkness of the Halloween for both of them quite comforting.   Isis opened her eyes following the jolt that had passed through her body and woke up. But her reaction was not that terse or frightening, because she already knew that Cattaleya was her mother but what she came to know was that she was not an only child. But there might have been other reasons which had forced them to keep the sisters apart. Isis did not know this for a fact that both her sisters at different continents of this world were having the same dream at the same time in their sleep. They all had different reactions to the dream showed by their mother because Cattaleya knew that they all needed one thing to win the Apocalypse that was coming, true love and the unity of the three sisters. True love as she very well knew they would be finding in their own time but they had one thing since they were born, the companionship and love of the three of them, which had been lost and now it was needed back. The Earth needed them back.
