Chapter 5

1151 Words
The next day, Emily received a call from Liam's assistant, informing her that the wedding planner would be arriving at her apartment at 10am. Emily was instructed to be ready to discuss the details of the wedding, and to make any necessary decisions. As Emily waited for the wedding planner to arrive, she busied herself with fixing a quick snack for the planner. She wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as she had never planned a wedding before. At 10am sharp, the doorbell rang, and Emily answered it to find a tall, slender woman with a warm smile and a clipboard. "Hello, Miss Wilson," the woman said, extending her hand. "I'm Sophia, the wedding planner. It's a pleasure to meet you." Emily smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She didn't know exactly what she had been expecting, but seeing Sophia was such a relief. She seemed friendly and competent, and Emily felt confident that she was in good hands. As Sophia followed Emily into the apartment, Emily couldn't help but notice the way Sophia's eyes scanned the room, taking in every detail. Sophia was a woman who was clearly used to being in charge. "So, Miss Wilson," Sophia said, as she sat down at the kitchen table. "Let's get started, shall we? We have a lot to discuss, and not a lot of time to waste." She added, jokingly. Emily nodded, determined to make this work. She was ready to plan this wedding, and she was ready to make it perfect. As Sophia began to discuss the details of the wedding, Emily found herself becoming more and more engaged. Sophia was a woman who knew her stuff, and Emily felt confident that she was in good hands. The two women spent the next few hours discussing everything from the venue to the flowers to the music. Emily was amazed at how much detail went into planning a wedding, and she was grateful to have Sophia to guide her through the process. As the meeting came to a close, Sophia smiled at Emily, and patted her hand. "Don't worry, Miss Wilson," she said. "I'll take care of everything. You just focus on getting ready for the big day." As Sophia left the apartment, Emily did a little dance. It was a happy dance, she was getting married, and she was ready to start her new life. As the days passed, Emily found herself becoming more and more caught up in the wedding planning process. Sophia was a whirlwind of activity, constantly calling and emailing Emily with updates and requests. Emily was amazed at how much detail went into planning a wedding. From the flowers to the music to the seating arrangements, every aspect of the wedding was carefully considered and planned. Despite the chaos and confusion, Emily found herself enjoying the process. She loved looking at pictures of wedding dresses and flowers, and she was excited about trying on her wedding dress for the first time. It was a custom dress from one of the biggest designers and would be made only for her. The dress was also to be named after her and, of course, it cost a fortune, but Liam had already made it clear that there was no sparing cost for the wedding. He had specifically instructed Sophia to make sure Emily gets whatever she wants, no matter the cost. As the wedding day drew closer, Emily's excitement grew. She couldn't wait to see Liam again, and to start their new life together. But despite her excitement, Emily couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Liam was still a bit distant and detached, and Emily couldn't help but wonder if he was truly committed to their marriage. As she lay in bed one night, Emily felt a sense of unease. She was about to marry a man she barely knew, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was making a mistake. But as she looked around her darkened bedroom, she knew that she had to push aside her doubts and fears. She had made a commitment to Liam, and she was determined to see it through. The next morning, she woke up feeling more determined than ever. She was going to make this marriage work, no matter what. As she got dressed and ready for the day, her phone rang. It was Sophia, calling to confirm the final details of the wedding. "Hello, Miss Wilson," Sophia said, her voice cheerful and efficient. "I just wanted to confirm that everything is ready for the big day. The flowers are ordered, the music is arranged, and the seating chart is finalized." "That sounds great, Sophia," she said. "I'm so glad everything is coming together." Sophia chuckled. "Don't worry, Miss Wilson," she said. "I've got everything under control.” Emily smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Sophia. "Thanks, Sophia," she said. "I really appreciate all your help." The wedding was just a few days away, and she was starting to feel the pressure. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She had everything under control, and Sophia was taking care of all the details. All she had to do was show up and get married. But as she looked around her apartment, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. She was leaving her old life behind and starting a new one with Liam. She was excited for the future, but she was also going to miss her old life. As she packed up the last of her belongings, Emily's phone rang again. This time, it was Liam. "Hey, Emily," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I just wanted to check in with you and see how everything is going." Emily smiled, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort. "Everything is going great, Liam," she said. "Sophia is taking care of all the details, and I'm just focusing on getting ready for the big day." Liam chuckled. "I'm glad to hear that," he said. "I was starting to get a little worried that you might be feeling overwhelmed." Emily laughed. "I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, but Sophia is taking care of everything," she said. "I'm just focusing on enjoying the experience and getting ready for our future together." Liam's voice was warm and tender. "I'm looking forward to our future together, Emily," he said. "I promise you, it's going to be amazing." As they talked, Emily began to feel a sense of connection with Liam. She was starting to feel like she was getting to know him, and she was excited to see where their relationship would go. As they said their goodbyes and hung up the phone, she felt hopeful and optimistic about the future. Would this new chapter be everything she ever dreamed of or has she just made the greatest mistake of her life marrying a stranger?
