Episode 9: Wildfire

His lips are as soft as marshmallows and his hair drowns my hands while I dig into him. Adrian pulls my waist and keeps me closer to him as I move in and keep his lips on mine. When I pulled away to breathe, I am engulfed by the greens of his eyes and the stipple of red on his face. He is blushing like wildfire. I blush at the thought of it too. "I'm sorry... I don't know what got into me..." Adrian stutters as he looks at my eyes with worry. He feels like it's his fault. Aww. I press my thumb on his lip as I use my other fingers to cup his face. "Behave." He nods and lets me do the work. I like this feeling: this feeling of being in control. His lips grazed the surface of my skin ‘till he reached the very neck he smothered with his breathe earlier. I gasp when he touched them with his lips. "Promise me you'll do everything I say if you want me." I whisper. He nods in agreement while kissing me. His tongue licks mine, dancing crazily with the smoothness of our motion. I pull away shortly. "You'll disobey your father for me?" He nods again, making me smile in between kisses. "You won't force me to bear your children?" He pulls me closer than ever with his arms and carries me to the railings where he balances me with his strong hands. "I will never hurt you." He says while looking at my eyes. "You are my Queen." "Good." I pull him to my chest and embraced him. I ruffled his chestnut hair that was messed up by my doing. We stayed longer in that position. When I looked up from Adrian's neck, I see a bewildered expression plastered on Evos' face. --- "... and these are all the records of all the people from the farther districts. Now if you'll excuse me, your Majesty. I have somewhere to be." Evos says then gives me a faint bow. He hasn't looked at me since this morning. Yet, he is all over the place trying to assist me with everything. I appreciate his help but I want to see his kindness now. My office is different from what I'm used to. It's a little small compared to the study room and the office my brother, Prince Kyle, has. But, it has its perks. It has a wide range of books with copies that I appreciate they have. I'd love to spend my afternoons here reading a book. I turn to Evos who is waiting for me to dismiss him. "Why are you not looking at me?" I asked. Evos stands upright and decides to shoot me a look. "Was it because of last night?" "No, your Majesty." He says, looking away. "I am simply not in the mood to have a chat. I have other things to think about." "If you feel like I somehow betrayed you by holding Adrian like that, then you should stop thinking that." I told him, while shuffling the papers he placed for me. The very first paper I see has a picture of a farmer and his name on it in bold letters. It says that he no longer has a family and is living alone. "Your Majesty, I am not bothered by your private matters. You are Queen so I do not have to bother with what you want to do in your leisure time." Evos states. He kept looking away but maintains the stern look. "Stop calling me that. Just call me Adeline. Adie if you feel like it." I told him, shooting him a grin. He softens with my gesture. "Your Maje-" I glare at him so he stopped himself. "I mean, Adie. I don't know why you try to make me close to you. I do not want that at all. I respect you and helped you because you are my sovereign. I genuinely just want you to be happy but not in a way I will intrude your personal life." "Precisely why I want you to befriend me. Come on, ask me anything. I'm sure I have the time to answer them." I say, leaning atop the pile of papers. He sighs in defeat. "Well,..." he averts his eyes then goes back to me. "Why were you and Sir Adrian together last night? I thought you hated him?" I laughed. This time, it's a real laugh that could hurt my jaw anytime. "I do hate him. In fact, I like hating him." He gives me a questioning look. "You see, I also like that he's obsessed with me whether it's real or not. Makes me feel powerful." "Oh." He mutters while contemplating at what I just said. "Basically, you are using his emotions against him." "Precisely my point! His father loves using me as a pawn. So why not do the same with his son?" He gives me an impressed look. "Well, you are Queen. I just hope you know what you are doing." He says then gives me another bow, probably wanting to leave me. I pull on the hems of his sleeve and he stumbles on my table. I didn't mean for him to fall clumsily on my desk but before I could lift myself up, we are both nose to nose above my table. I feel my eyes widen in surprise as I notice his dark eyes looking straight into me, ready to open a mirage. He quickly got into his feet and I did the same. We both had an awkward silence afterward. "You wanted something, your Majesty?" He asks, awkwardly. "uhmm..." My eyes trailed off. "I forgot what I was going to say. Uhm... Goodluck today, I guess?" He bowed in return and left the room. Before I could sigh in relief, Maimie bolted in my room. --- "I want to know when you will set the date for marriage with my son." Alfonzo says. "You're Queen now. To be honest, it's unfair to take the throne without being married." "You're the one that rushed me, Sir." I said, giving him a bored look. "Well, you have to follow through our agreement or else I'll easily overthrow you. You know my hold to these people. I gave you what you want - your Queendom - now give me what I want." I sigh, the pile of unchecked papers are adding to my stress. "Fine. Let's have the wedding by next week. Plan it out. I expect a grand feast for my people. I'll be there to exchange vows, got it?" I say, waving him off. He giddily stands and bows. Before he left, he turned to me. "I heard you and my son shared a kiss. Will I be expecting my grandson anytime?" I threw him my paperweight but failed to reach him because he had closed the doors after him. "Ugh!" The door opened again and I was about to throw another one when I realized it was Adrian who is by the door. "Need any help?" He asks, closing the door behind him. He started walking towards me with a shy look. "I know I'm not much of a help to you but I'm ready to learn and I'll be qui-" Before he could speak more, I pulled his neck to mine and we are already devouring each other by the windowsill. "No talking, more kissing." I breathe while I release my frustrations on this poor boy who likes me so much. - End –
