《Chapter 1》 She was always late. She could set a million alarms in her room and manage to sleep through all of them. Alaina had been so busy this week. Helping her best friend Janet. She had been helping her friend mail off autographed photos. Alaina Demor had been hired as Janet Jackson's trusted coworker for her fan club since her first album came out. Alaina had one more stack of autographs to mail out and she was done with the batch for awhile. Alaina was happy with her life for the most part. She had the best job thanks to her best friend. She had met Janet back when they were in private school. When Janet had moved out there to LA. Alaina was in the same school with her because her parents to had been wealthy. Her parents owned the "Lucky Star" hotel chains. They were doing as well as Paris Hilton's parents' hotel chain. Alaina hardly ever had seen her parents when she was growing up. They were too busy for her. They left her with the nanny. Until she met the Jackson's. She never had any siblings until she had them in her life. She and Janet connected so fast. They were joint at the hip growing up together. Alaina was a lonely child but not when she got to be with the Jackson's. She practically had lived over at their house. Then she moved into Janet's place once they graduated high school. Most of the time if Janet was on tour then she was there at the house all alone. If she was not off traveling with Janet. Alaina was blessed to have Janet in her life and her brothers and sister to. Alaina yawns as the phone rings. She groans when she sees what time it was. Nearly one in the afternoon. She had been up all last night trying to get her work done. Because that weekend Janet's new album was coming out. And she was going to the party for the album's debut. Alaina rolls over in bed then manages to reach the light blue phone that was plugged into the wall. •✰︎• "Hello?" she yawns. Her pretty blue eyes focus as they open more. "Did you just now get up lazy?" chuckles a male voice on the phone. That woke her up! Michael. "Hey, I was up till one to work on things" she reminds him. "I was not laying around" "Sure, Alaina" he laughs. "do you know what time it is?" "I know I am running late" she mutters. She manages to sit up in bed. "Janet wanted me to call you to see if you could meet us down here at the club for the big party tonight. The place looks lit" he brags. "her manager did great picking out this place right in the middle of LA" "It is one of the hottest new places in town" she agrees. "What were you doing until one in the morning?" he questions. She loved hearing his deep soft voice talk in her ear. One on one. A blush rises to her cheeks. "I was finishing mailing off those autographs for the fan club" she sighs. "I have one more pile to go" she mutters. "I do my part" she reminds him. "I was just teasing you" he jokes with her. "Get down here as fast as you can" he adds. "see you soon sleepyhead" he says before they hang up. •✰︎• Michael. Alaina was a few years older then Janet. But younger than Michael. In many ways he was like an older brother to her. More than that. Another best friend to her. She loved spending time with him when he was around. And that was not that often nowadays. He was a very busy man. She missed seeing him. She was awake now knowing she was going to get to see him soon. She gets out the clothing she laid out for herself the night before. She takes a quick shower. Then dries off. Getting dressed. In tight blue jeans. Wearing a black shirt that hugged her curves just right. She wore her blond hair curly down around her face. She put in some simple pearl earrings in her ears. And a gold heart locket Michael gifted her on her sixteenth birthday. Then she was ready. She grabs a cold ice coffee down in the fridge before running out the door. She ends up getting stuck in the traffic there in LA. Soon she arrives in the back of the club. Parks her little sleek cherry red sports car. Locks it up then heads inside once the guards see she is on the enter list. She spots Janet over by the dj talking to him. She looked as beautiful as always. She was wearing a pair of black leggings with a white crisp shirt. And knee high heel black boots. Her hair was curly around her pretty face. Janet's eyes light up with joy when she spots Alaina there. •✰︎• "At last you finally, made it" teases Janet as she hugs her. "I am so sorry. I set my alarm. But I did not hear it" she tells Janet. "Michael tried to call you" Janet tells her. Alaina nods. "He got me. He woke me up" "Why were you up so late? Having issues sleeping?" worries Janet. "Nothing like that" says Alaina. "I was finishing up work. But hey I am here now!" "Better late than never!" someone jokes behind them. "Michael!" laughs Alaina. He hugs her hello. His warmth engulfs her as she joyfully wraps her arms back around him. He smelled so good. All men should wear the same calonge as he did. They were sure to get a date if they had. He was so tall as his protective figure loomed over hers. They lingered in a hug then they pulled away. It had been a few weeks since she was last able to see him. He was as handsome as ever. Wearing a simple black jacket. A red tee shirt under it. Black pants. Killer leather boots. Sunglasses rested on top of his dark curly black hair. His brown eyes twinkled looking joyful to be around them both. His smile hit her heart as it always did. Perfect joy. Handsome dimples in those cheeks. Her heart skips a beat to have him standing next to her side. •✰︎• "What something on my face?" he jokes. "No it is good to see you. You realize I have not saw you in sometime" she reminds him. He looks thoughtful for a moment "You are right, I have to make more time for you ladies, I have missed you both" "We miss you MJ" says Janet. "Both of you?" adds Michael as he winked at Alaina. "Both of us" softly says Alaina shyly. He smiles at her a moment. Her heart pings at her again. "Come look! Everyone is going to love the new songs that will hit the earwaves" brags Janet. "Have you heard some of her work? She is so amazing. Like her big brother" says Alaina. "I have heard it! Janet it is your best work yet!" brags Michael as he hugs his sister. Things were going to happen. And Alaina was happy to be a part of her best friends hard work. She was thrilled to be a part of music history in the making. ~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
