After breakfast, Alex went to get ready for work, and I went to my study to work on some projects. But my mind kept wandering back to Sophia and Alex.
What were they hiding? And why were they so calm and collected?
I tried to focus on my work, but it was no use. I couldn't concentrate.
After a while, Alex came into the study, looking handsome in his suit. "I'm heading out," he said, leaning down to kiss me.
I smiled, trying to play it cool. "Have a good day," I said, trying to sound normal.
Alex smiled, his eyes cr crling at the corners. "You too, baby," he said, before turning and leaving.
As he left, I felt a sense of relief. I needed some time to think.
I spent the rest of the day working on my projects, but my mind kept wandering back to Sophia and Alex.
What were they hiding? And why were they so calm and collected?
As the day went on, I started to feel more and more anxious. I needed to talk to someone about this.
I picked up my phone and dialed my best friend, Rachel's number.
"Hey, girl," she answered, her voice cheerful.
"Hey, Rach," I said, trying to sound casual. "What's up?"
"Not much," she said. "Just getting ready for the charity event tonight. You?"
I felt a surge of anxiety. The charity event. I'd forgotten about it.
"Yeah, I'm getting ready," I said, trying to sound normal. "Hey, Rach, can I ask you something?"
"Shoot," she said.
I took a deep breath. "Do you think Alex is cheating on me?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line. "What? No way, Ella," Rachel said, her voice firm. "Alex loves you. Why would he cheat on you?"
I felt a surge of doubt. Maybe I was just being paranoid.
But as I thought about it, I knew I wasn't wrong. Something was going on.
"Rach, I saw something," I said, my voice low. "Between Alex and Sophia."
There was another pause on the other end of the line. "What did you see?" Rachel asked, her voice cautious.
I took a deep breath, trying to explain it. "I saw them talking, and they were too close. And Sophia was touching his arm..."
Rachel's voice was gentle. "Ella, maybe you're just being paranoid. But if you're really worried, you should talk to Alex about it."
I nodded, even though she couldn't see me. "Yeah, I'll talk to him," I said.
As I hung up the phone with Rachel, I felt a familiar tremor in my hands. They were shaking, and I couldn't control them. I tried to grip the phone tighter, but it slipped out of my grasp and fell to the floor.
I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, and I stumbled, falling to the ground. My vision blurred, and I struggled to focus. I knew I needed my medication, and fast.
I crawled across the floor, my hands trembling wildly, until I reached the cabinet where I kept my medication. I pulled it open, and my shaking hands fumbled through the bottles until I found the one I needed.
I managed to get the pill out and pop it into my mouth, swallowing it with a dry throat.
As the medication kicked in, the tremors began to subside, and my vision cleared. I lay there, panting, trying to catch my breath.
But as the tremors faded, my mind began to clear, and I remembered the conversation with Rachel. I remembered Sophia's words, and Alex's reaction.
And I began to wonder...was it all just a hallucination? Was I seeing things that weren't there?
The doctor had warned me about this. The neuropathic disease that affected my brain, causing hallucinations and tremors. I had been experiencing it for months now, and the medication was supposed to help, but sometimes...
I felt a wave of regret wash over me. Had I accused Sophia and Alex wrongly? Had I hurt them with my suspicions?
I thought about the charity event tonight, and how I was going to face them. I needed to make it up to them, to apologize and clear the air.
But what if it wasn't a hallucination? What if something was really going on?
I shook my head, trying to clear the doubts. I needed to focus on getting to the charity event and making things right.
As I stood up, I felt a sense of determination. I would apologize to Sophia and Alex, and we would move forward. And I would make sure to talk to my doctor about adjusting my medication.
I stood in front of my closet, trying to decide what to wear to the charity event. My hands were steady now, thanks to the medication, but my mind was still racing.
I finally settled on a stunning red gown that accentuated my curves. I had bought it for a special occasion, and this seemed like the perfect night to wear it.
As I began to get ready, I started to hear whispers in my head. "I'm sure Alex and Sophia are cheating on you," a voice said.
I tried to brush it off, but another voice chimed in. "How are you even sure?"
"Of course, she was touching your husband," a third voice said. "She was touching Alex, so why couldn't she be cheating on you?"
I shook my head, trying to clear the voices. But they just got louder.
"Remember that you cannot even accuse somebody without proof," a fourth voice said. "And that proof is what you do not have, and you are just hurting their feelings."
The voices argued back and forth in my head, making my brain feel like it was going to explode. I held my head in my hands, trying to block them out.
I needed another pill. I quickly grabbed one from the cabinet and swallowed it, hoping it would calm the voices.
As the medication kicked in, the voices faded away, and I was able to focus on getting ready.
I did my makeup, trying to accentuate my features. I looked stunning, if I did say so myself.
As I finished getting ready, I had an idea. I would make a candlelit dinner date with Alex, just the two of us. We could talk things through and reconnect.
I picked up the phone and called one of the most expensive boutiques in town. "I need the most expensive gown you have in Sophia Moss size," I said, my voice confident. "And I need it delivered to my address."
Our family was well known and popular so I was sure they had her size the store was only for elites and trusting my sister’s extravagant nature I knew too well she was their regular customer
I was going to make it up to Sophia and Alex, no matter what.
As I waited for the gown to be delivered, I couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. I was going to fix this, no matter what it took.
The doorbell rang, and I smiled. The gown must have arrived.
I opened the door, and there was a handsome delivery guy holding a stunning silver gown. "Delivery for Sophia Moss," he said.
I smiled, taking the gown from him. "Thank you," I said, handing him a generous tip.
As he left, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. Tonight was going to be a night to remember.
