Chapter 20
Edric and I head to the kitchen after the meeting.
“Have a seat.” He directs me to a stool at the island and pulls out a tray of what looks like Greek food from the fridge. It clanks on the marble counter when he sets it front of me. I guzzle a gallon of water and dig in. I didn’t realize I was starving and dying of thirst until now.
“Are you ready to fill me in on your adventure?” He sets warm pita next to me and sits. He looks too big for the stool.
I’m not ready for any of this.
“I had a memory of Cyrus from long ago. Afterwards, I had to find him. Turns out he had a memory of us too. We shared what we saw but when he saw my memory, he freaked.”
