To Elena, the pain on her hand is nothing compared to the pain in her heart. As Anna sat before Williams, her words hung heavy in the air like a suffocating fog. "Elena didn't mean to pour the hot water," she insisted, her voice laced with sincerity. But as Williams looked at Anna, his heart overflowing with gratitude for her care, he couldn't bring himself to doubt her words. Williams dismissed Elena's protests without a second thought. Ignoring the truth that lay hidden beneath the surface, he lashed out at Elena, his words a cruel dagger that pierced her heart. Elena recoiled from Williams' accusations, her heart breaking with each venomous word he uttered. The pain of his betrayal cut deeper than any physical wound, leaving her drowning in a sea of despair. But amidst the turmoil of her shattered heart, Elena refused to stay silent. With a trembling voice, she tried to explain the truth to Williams, to make him see the deception that had clouded his judgment. "Anna hit my hand," she pleaded, her words a desperate plea for understanding. "I didn't pour the water." Anna had begun to sob, Williams winced in sympathy. Elena realized that he didn’t hate sympathizing with women he just hated her. It wasn’t me, really,I promise you that I didn’t do anything she stated weakly, showing Williams her blistered hand. “ see..? My hand is injured. Fuck off! Williams bellowed. He then slapped her wounded hand away. She gasped and winced on pain. You don’t get a say b***h, you should be glad that you’re the one who go scalded. Had Anna been the one hurt, I would have f*****g killed you and fed you to the dogs. “Get out of here now!” Elena without hesitation. Made her way to the door, from the corner from her eyes, she could see the smirk on Anna’s face. As Elena stormed out of the hospital ward, her heart heavy with the weight of betrayal, Anna's facade crumbled like a house of cards. With calculated precision, she turned to Williams, her expression a mask of contrition. "That's enough, okay? I feel like I'm causing issues here," she said, her voice tinged with false sincerity. Alone in the hallway, Elena's mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions. Hurt, anger, betrayal - they all mingled together in a toxic brew that threatened to consume her. Brushing aside her tears, Elena sought out a nurse to tend to her scalded hand, the pain of her physical wounds a stark contrast to the ache in her heart. As the tension simmered in the hospital room, Anna's words hung heavy in the air like a foreboding storm cloud. With calculated precision, she turned to Williams, her gaze piercing through him ."Williams, if you continue like this, people will only see me as a mistress causing a rift between you and your wife," she said, her voice laced with a deceptive sweetness. What do you mean, Anna?" he asked, his voice strained with emotion. But Anna merely smiled, a mask of innocence masking the darkness that lurked beneath the surface. "I don’t know Williams.I’m just thinking too much.I don't want people to think of me as a mistress, then perhaps you should reconsider your actions," she replied, her words dripping with venomous intent. Anna you’re not a mistress at all, don’t bother yourself about what people think. Elena has only enjoyed the benefit of being my wife for 3 years, because my grandfather only favored her. And you know I can’t disobey him. He’s no more now I will make you my wife. Anna smiled with satisfaction, she has achieved her purpose so easily. Elena got home, collapsed on the chair and burst into tears. Time passed , Elena lost track of time until Williams cracked the door. She didn’t even bother to open her eyes to know who enters. Not until Williams spoke. He threw some papers on the table. “Sign.” Her eyes caught the headline:”Divorce Agreement” “She froze, lifting her head to stare at him,and asked, didn’t you promise.. grandpa that we will never get a divorce?” And then what? Give you more opportunity to hurt Anna? The marriage was bond to crash anyway. And I can’t be with Anna when your still my wife you have to leave the picture. Elena felt pangs of pain on her heart and hand. Why was she always the one who suffers the blow? Who end up hurt?. However, she thought for a moment and realized it didn’t matter anymore. She picked up the divorce agreement and read every word written. Williams was certainly generous. He offered her the villa she was staying and 3 million dollars. With a rule never to show her face to him again that means she had to leave light city. The agreement is fair. I Will sign it, but she declared, I have one condition too. I don’t need any compensation, not the house or money, you can have them. You must be very foolish.? Elena forced herself to ignore the sting in her heart, closed her eyes and said, I just want you to know I didn’t marry you for all these. He looked at her with pure disgust. “ fine” But mark my words Elena Kent, if I see you around light city, or you try to come close to me again, I will make both you, your grandmother and you entire family wish you were in hell instead!and it not a threat. Williams signed the papers and slammed it on Elena’s face. She tried to pick it up but the pain In her hands was unbearable stopping her for a bit. What now? “Williams sneered” looking for a new excuse not to sign? No, she endured the pain, and signed the papers quickly. Pack all you things today and get the hell out of here as soon as you’re done! “And don’t even think of taking anything not yours. Stewart will be watching you until he is sure you’re out of this city!” Williams practically bolted from the parlor, eager to escape the suffocating confines of their failed marriage. His haste spoke volumes. With a bitter laugh, Elena watched him go, the sound echoing in the empty room. Despite the pain of their separation. Alone in the quiet apartment, Elena surveyed the sparse surroundings with a wistful smile. She began to pack her belongings, but there wasn't much to take her. As she folded clothes and gathered few things , Elena couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. Here she was, starting over with nothing but a few suitcases and a heart full of chartered dreams. With a heavy heart, she gathered her belongings, preparing to leave behind the life she had known for so long. But as she made her way through the walkway , a sinking feeling settled in the pit of her stomach. She realized she had forgotten her phone in Anna's ward. Elena hurried back to Anna's ward to retrieve her phone, hoping to make a quick exit without encountering her husband's mistress. But as she approached the room, she froze in place, unable to ignore the voices drifting through the partially open door. Peeking inside, Elena's blood ran cold as she overheard Anna's conversation. Her heart hammered in her chest as she listened to Anna's words who was on a phone call, each one a dagger to her already wounded heart. "Williams thinks I'm the one who saved him that day in the crash," Anna said, her voice tinged with smug satisfaction. "You know, I and Elena somewhat look alike, but what he didn't know is, I was too scared to even get close to the car before it exploded." I hope he never finds out at all cause Williams will definitely kill me. Shock coursed through Elena's veins as the truth of Anna's deception came crashing down upon her. Every piece of the puzzle fell into place, revealing the depth of Anna's manipulation and deceit.
