The Lost Hybrid Luna

I awoke to the thunderstorm outside my tiny window from the attic which was my room. My joints where stiff from the tiny cot I was given to sleep on and so I yawn and stretch to loosen them up for the long day of work ahead of me. Since the storm was causing the dark sky I couldn’t tell if it was morning or night so I go ahead and get up to start my choirs. If I got an early start on breakfast maybe Alpha Kane would let me eat today. It was rare that I got to eat what I cooked for the rest of the pack most of the time I scavenged for what I could. I couldn’t help but smile to myself knowing tomorrow was my 18th birthday and I could finally plan my escape from this place. Alpha Kane was the Alpha of Grey Wolf pack and is without a mate. He does however have a son named Cage that is the future Alpha and the reason I’m bullied constantly. He and his friends love to pick on me and cause more hurt in my life. I don’t know why the Goddess gave this life to me. My parents died when I was only 8 years old and since I had no other known relatives the Alpha took me in and promised to take care of me just like my parents would. But since then all I’ve known is hurt and sorrow. I pray everyday that the Goddess would take me out of this place and that my Mate would find me and show me all the love I knew I deserved. As I finished washing up I combed my blonde hair into a tight bun so no one would be able to pull it and dressed for the day in my maid uniform of blank dress pants and a white button up shirt I head down the stairs to get breakfast ready for the day. I don’t hear anyone moving around yet which means I won’t have to endure the punches and the cruel words from the other omegas. My bruises around my ribs from the last beating are just now starting to fade. I decide to make pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs for the warriors. As I’m getting all the ingredients out and start cooking Olga the head omega walks in with her clipboard in hand. “Kara, you will be assigned to serving during the party the Alphas hosting in honor of the Moon Star packs Alpha coming to visit.” She said. Grey Wolf pack was a small pack and every once in a while when a larger pack came through our territory Alpha Kane would throw a party in their honor. What he was trying to get out of this I have no idea but who was I to say anything. Being the least ranked member of the pack I barley knew anything about our pack, much less any others. But I had heard the rumors of the Moon Star Alpha. Alpha Cole was known to be merciless in battle therefore everyone wanted to be on his good side at all times. He was in charge of one of the biggest packs in America and he had grown his pack to even bigger in the last six months since he had taken over from his father. I had also heard the other omega girls gushing at how hot he was and that he was on the hunt for his mate and Luna. Lost in my thoughts Olga snapped her fingers in front of my face “Are you hearing me you ungrateful pup?” I snapped out of it to answer, “Yes ma’am.” I sighed “You best be on your best behavior, or there will be no food for a week!” As if that really was a punishment anymore. I couldn’t tell you when the last meal I had was. Just thinking about it made my stomach growl in hunger. “Oh, and the Alpha wants to see you immediately!” She said as she stomped away. Great. I wonder what I did now. The Alpha only wanted to see me when he thought I had done something wrong like glanced at a high ranking she-wolf to long or took to long to get my chores done. I finished setting everything out to be served after morning training and did the dishes from breakfast and headed up to the third floor that held the Alphas quarters and the adjoining offices. As I approached I heard voices inside belonging to Alpha Kane and his son Cage. “You must make her mine father. She’ll be 18 tomorrow and I deserve what’s mine.” What?! Surely he wasn’t talking about me. I’m nothing, what would he want with me? “She’ll be yours son, just calm down. We’ve kept her hidden this whole time a few more weeks is nothing.” Cage huffed “Thats too long. I want her NOW! Only she can give me powerful heirs. And with that power she has we’ll raise our pack!” He couldn’t be talking about me. Power? I had nothing, I have been the lowest ranking member of our pack since I was eight and he has done nothing but pick on me and be cruel. I took a second to calm myself down and knocked on the door. “Come in!” I pushed to door open and bowed my head. “You wanted to see me Alpha.” For anyone that wasn’t a wolf my voice wouldn’t have been heard. “Kara, as you know the Moon Star Alpha will be here tonight for the celebration and I’ve assigned you to prepare his rooms along with serving him at the party. You will do as he says without question.” Cage growled at his fathers words and I looked up in surprise. “Father she will do no such thing!” Cage was seething at this point. “She will, because I say. And son if you know what’s good for you you’ll keep your mouth shut.” He looked at me with so much hate in his eyes and I quickly looked back down at the floor and replied “Yes sir.” Alpha Kane stood from his chair. “Good. You’ll be 18 tomorrow if I remember correctly.” Oh no. “Yes sir, that is correct.” He nodded, “And I know you haven’t found your mate yet. So I’d like to make an arrangement.” I peaked through my lashes to see Cages anger change to a wicked smile. “Since you haven’t found your mate and my son hasn’t found his either. You will become his chosen mate. In return you will provide heirs. You will no longer be an omega but the Luna, only in name of course, to this pack. If you refuse it will be the greatest mistake of your life. What say you, child?” Ummmm what? I don’t understand. Now they want to make me their Luna? What was all this power Cage is talking about? Did I fall and hit my head?
