Eve* 

Day One hundred and fifty three, this is the first time in so long I have been able to be human. I almost lost control in the hospital but Azure was able to stop my shift in its tracks. What till happen when I say good bye to him in a few minutes? My heart hurt at that thought, I don't want to leave him but I don't even know him. HE doesn't want someone like me hanging around though I can barely control myself. My feet started moving slower knowing what would happen next, loneliness again. 

I looked up at Azure's face committing the way his jaw cut sharp and how his nose was slightly crooked, the way his dark hair complemented his tan skin. Where will I go, I never thought about what I would do if I shifted back. Then I felt his hand grasp mine so warm, soothing, calming my soul. He had stopped walking, he is about to say his goodbyes I know it. Before I realized what I was doing I stretched up on my tip toes and rubbed the crease in his forehead trying to ease his stress. 

"Thank you for saving me. I know this is goodbye but I can't thank you enough for your help." My voice broke at the end. 

His laugh broke the sorrow building in my chest. " Eve this is not goodbye. You are coming with me, please just follow me to the car. I have answers to your questions." his hand tightened around mine. 

"How do you have answers? " Is this possible that he has answers to this. My mind is screaming that this is a bad idea, but the heat he was creating in my body told me to trust him. He didn't answer my question he just pulled me towards a black Range Rover. 

" We will talk after we get to the house. Just trust me." His hot breath fanned my face as he buckled me into the SUV, my lips craved to touch his, to taste him on my tongue. He walked to the other side of the truck and climbed in, his scent over took the truck. His scent was like the first breath of fresh air to ever hit my lungs, he smelled of the woods after a summer rain with some kind of spice mixed in. My mouth watered from the scent, I want that scent to surround me. 

" Eve why don't you tell me about yourself" His hands were gripping the steering wheel like he wanted to rip it off. His eyes were darker then before.... What is that look in his eyes? 

" Well I am 19, I grew up in a suburb of Chicago. Not really much else to say."  My mind raced trying to think of my life before. How I missed being normal, eating junk food, navigating school, having friends. 

" How did you end up here?" his blue eyes were trying to pry my soul open. 

"ummmm. That's a long story." How much do I trust him.

" I already know your a shifter. I'm your mate. You have nothing left to hide." His tone was clipped almost angry. Once again that word Mate..... What does that even mean. 

" Why do you keep saying mate. I don't understand." He looked my way, he looked hurt by my words. 

" You are the other half of my soul Eve. We were put here for each other. You feel it too." None of that was a question but a statement and he was not wrong I did feel something. 

The air was thick with tension but we both were lost in our own thoughts the rest of the ride. I could see a large house we were approaching it was in the middle of nowhere but yet it looked like it didn't belong. We were far from the mountains, the house sat at the end of a paved drive, it was beautiful all brick two story home with black trim windows. 

"Welcome Kitty, this is where I spent the last 30 days in Nepal looking for you." Azure's face was guarded, like he just let out the biggest secret. 

" You were looking for me?" Why do I feel like I don't understand a lot about Azure? 

"I have been searching for you for over 200 years." yup I was right I don't understand anything. Who is this man?        

  He pushed his dark hair back as he walked around the car to open my door, he looked like fell off the runway and straight into my life. The only thing to drag me out of my thoughts was his hand outstretched waiting for me to grasp it, without any hesitation I embraced his touch. Welcoming the sparks that came from his touch and the heat my whole body ignited with as soon I came into contact with him. 

"Have you really been searching for me?' my curiosity made its way out of my mouth before I could control myself. 

"Eve I have been one step behind you since the first day you shifted. You followed you to from Washington all the way here." OMG so he's a sexy stalked... He lead me inside the huge black front doors, exposing me to the most underwhelming yet beautiful house I have ever seen. The white tile covering the floors was sparkling in the morning sun and the plain off white walls made the entry look empty. No pictures, no decorations, nothing. This caused sadness to cloud my mind slightly, How lonely this looked. 

"Eve?.......... Eeeevvvve? Hello." Azures hand touched my cheek snapping me back to reality. Jesus Eve pull it together, mental face palm. 

"Yes?" What is wrong with me. His eyes searched my face with a look of concern, are his eyes dark blue now? 

" Are you hungry?" He pulled me down the hallway in front of us. He's hand was still gently wrapped in mine his touch as soft as a feather. "Binsa should be making lunch." As we came closer the scent of rosemary filled my nose, it was mouth watering. Entering the kitchen I noticed a taller, beautiful woman move around the kitchen with so much grace it was hard to not stare. Her long brown hair reaching the middle of her back,  long lashes crowning her dark brown almost black eyes, she was majestic almost regal. 

"Binsa. What are you cooking?" Even as he spoke to her, his eyes never left me. Was he afraid I would disappear?  The beautiful woman looked up and squealed in excitement, she crossed the room before I could blink and grabbed me in a hug. 

"oh my God she is really here! You finally found her!" Her voice was like music flowing into my ears. 

"Binsa let her go, your frightening her." Azure's voice showed his annoyance. My attacker squeezed me one more time before letting go. 

"Az why do you have to spoil all the fun." She took a step back still holding on to my shoulders. Her brown eyes swept my body before finally hurrying back to what she was preparing. 

" Eve this is Binsa, Binsa this is Eve." His fingers intertwining with mine. Wait his eyes are light blue again... ok I am losing it. 

" Eve it is so amazing to finally meet you." her voice so genuine and pure." `Az the guys were worried about you, you haven't answered your phone all morning." Her eyes met his as if trying to convey a message. 

" I will meet with them later, first I need to make sure Eve is properly fed." He led me to the counter and pulled out a bar stool. " How are you feeling?" he hand only leaving mine to caress my cheek. My body felt like it may burst into flames. 

I stared at him for a minute thinking about his question. How do I really feel.... Overwhelmed? Tired? Confused? My body stared to shake violently.. Shit.... s**t s**t. NOT NOW PLEASE. 

"Eve.. Eve please breath." Azure's voice was so calm as he pet my hair trying to get me relax. 

Panic blossomed in my chest at the thought of shifting again. I'm not ready yet. The shaking took my body over I can't stop it now. 

"Eve just breath, listen to my voice. I am here with you." His beautiful voice was like a soft blanket protecting me from myself. The shaking slowly stopped as my body struggled to remain on the chair. Dark spots started to cloud my eyes as I looked down to see deep claw marks on the counter top. Everything slowly went dark the last thing I felt was the sparks of Azure's body catching me as I fell.
