CHAPTER 1
RICARDO’S SUITE (PALACE GROUND)
Ricardo’s pov
I slumped back in my chair, the dim light swallowing my anger. My temples throbbing, I replayed the revelation like a curse. _That_ was my mate? That woman? a dirty “witch”!!
The moon Goddess's joke was on me.
"f**k!" I slammed my fist on the armrest. Why her? Anyone but her. My mind rebelled against the mating bond, refusing to accept the shame.

FLASHBACK:Last night(TILL DAWN CLUBHOUSE)
Ricardo’s POV
"What in holy hell will my goddamn mate be doing in this shithole?" I muttered, my eyes scanning the crowd below through the glass shield. We’re in the VVIP and Cassius, my personal guard and friend, shot me a calming look.
"Chillax bro, she could be here for fun like everyone else, you know."
My gaze sliced through the glass, searching for the source of the intoxicating scent. Then I saw her – a stripper, scantily dressed, her body groped by leering men as she danced. My wolf snarled, hackles raised.
Werewolves hate witches, and she reeked of magic.
"I'm fuckin rejecting her," I growled, my anger boiling over. I strode over, ignoring the drooling girls clinging to me but I’m not here for any of them, I just club to get away from the palace sometimes...
I grabbed her arm, dragging her off the stage, through the crowd, and into a nearby room. She stumbled, her eyes wide with fear and confusion.I pinned her against the wall, my chest heaving.
"I, Ricardo Knight, reject you as my goddamn mate now and forever," I roared, my voice echoing off the walls. She crumbled, sobbing on the floor, her pain palpable. I felt... nothing. Just cold satisfaction. Glancing at her once, disgust twisted my gut. Slamming the door shut, I left her to suffer.
"Get the damn car, we're leaving," I barked at Cassius, already walking out of the club. He followed, glass forgotten, and we disappeared into the night.
FLASHBACK ENDS
******
The door to my room creaked, breaking the chain of my thoughts. A tiny female figure peeped before stepping in slowly, her familiar scent wafting in with her.
I didn't even bother to glance up at her, already knowing who it was – Isabella, She's that pretty, innocent, but stubborn little girl who'd grown up under my father's roof.
Her mom had brought her to the palace when she married my father, the king, for the money, of course. She was just 5 years old then, so she believes she's my blood sister. but lately, I've noticed things. Noticed her.
"What did I say about you barging in to my room every goddamn time?" I asked her with a blank expression, leaning back in my chair. I can swear I heard her scoff, and then she rolled her big eyes, a tiny smirk playing on her lips.
"I'm sorry, your highness..." she said, not looking sorry at all.
"I just came to check on you cos I haven't seen you since you went out last night and it's evening already... soo..." She trailed off, looking at me with those big brown eyes, waiting for my reply.
But I just nodded my head and told her to leave.
"Go."
She turned to go, and I saw it – a flicker of sadness on her face as she walks to the door, and it kinda makes me feel sad somehow.
"But why do I start feeling this way for this girl?" I muttered to myself, my eyes following her until she slipped out of the room.

Isabella POV
I walked out of his room, feeling like I'd been slapped.
Why does he have to be so mean always? I was just trying to be nice, check on him like I always do.
I sighed, my shoulders slopping in defeat. I think he just... hates me, I muttered to myself, the thought stinking like a bad smell in my head.
I trudged to my room, my feet heavy on the tiled floor. Once inside, I flopped onto my bed, burying my face in a pillow.
I pulled out my phone and started scrolling, trying to distract myself from the ache in my chest. t****k, i********:, Twitter... nothing seemed to stick.
Eventually, my eyelids got heavy, and I dozed off, phone still held in my hand.

THE NEXT MORNING>>>
Isabella’s pov
I stepped out of the bathroom, blow-drying my hair with my hot air hand drier, the warm air rustling my strands. I was getting ready for school, and I was running a bit behind. I slipped into a simple floral gown that stopped just below my knees, paired it with a pair of not-so-high heels, and grabbed my tote bag.
I let my long brown hair down, applying a little lipgloss on my lips before declaring myself ready. You might be wondering why I don’t dress sophisticatedly like other princesses or letting the maid do the dressing for me…it’s just that I don’t like it.
I headed down to the dining hall, expecting the usual solo breakfast scene, but what I found was Ricardo – the grumpy prince himself – actually having breakfast.
Like, for real. I was taken aback. I'd wanted to join him, but my appetite suddenly vanished, fearing he'd snap at me again.
"Morning big... I mean, your highness," I greeted, trying to sound casual. He looked up, and for a moment, I thought I'd misread the situation. But then,
"Morning, Bella," he murmured, his voice deep and rough. I stood there, dumbfounded, staring at him in awe. Ricardo doesn't respond to greetings like that. Ever.
