I return back to the paper and pass Ben in the composing room, telling him I will shortly have a hot story for him to run. He says he will wait for my return.
Sitting at my desk, I start pounding out the Catholic Church story headlined “Who Would Steal From St. Mary’s?” This is one of the most horrendous crimes that has hit our city. Young gang members rob and steal a gold statue of a saint from St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Camelback. They maliciously beat Father Nicolai, the long residing priest of the church, who happened to hear a noise in the church and interrupted them tearing down the statue—I wish I could name the Saint, but that will have to wait for tomorrow’s newspaper when I can re-interview the good Father and ho
