CHAPTER EIGHTEEN JUNE 9, 12 NOON ARIZONA REPUBLIC NEWSPAPER As I get in the car, I mumble enough religion for one day. I cruise back to my office, hoping that there is a call from the Chief about whatever they can locate in El Paso. Yeah, there’s a call. Not good news, though. Jim Gorham, the motel owner, and his new bride have just taken off for a much-delayed honeymoon and won’t be back in El Paso for a couple of weeks. This means the officer that is there will come home and then return later. No one seems to know where they have decided to go. There was talk about an extended camping trip somewhere in the mountains, also talk about going to Dallas, and some conversation about going to Santa Fe. No one knows for sure where they went. They have left Jim’s parents in charge of the mote
