CHAPTER FORTY-ONE
JUNE 28, 6 PM
MCLAIN HOME
At the end of the day, I arrive home to see Blondie and the kids putting up a couple of buckets where drops of water are falling from the ceiling. Blondie asks that I call the landlord and explain the situation. She has just gotten home and is trying to deal with it. I try to reach our landlord but to no avail. He is probably not answering the phone at this time because he also owns several low-rent apartments that may be having problems today.
I talk with the kids and see how their day went. Unfortunately, the school building also has leaks in several rooms, so most of their day was spent in the auditorium. They had two teachers that taught an American history class with lots of questions from the kids, which filled the day.
