CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN JULY 1, 9:30 PM ST MARY’S CHURCH On the way into the office, I drive by St. Mary’s. I am sure the young priest will be up and working. He now has a challenging workload to handle each day. I knock on the door of the rectory, and a woman housekeeper opens the door. I ask if Father Dave is available. She indicates to come in, and she will find him. In a couple of minutes, he appears, looking bright and energetic. “What can I do for you today? “I ask to see the church area where the statue was removed, and could I examine a couple of the other statues.” “Sure, come along, and I will open the church.
