11 Mason felt better being around the animals at the shelter. None of them expected anything from him. They’d all been let down by people and the fact that they were indoors and well-fed meant more to them than who was taking care of them. Mason was grateful to the owners of Best Friends Forever for giving him a chance years ago. For seeing past the beaten down man he was to the person he used to be and could become again.
