"Why do you want to do this to me?" Diana's tear's ducts opened at the same time.

"Is she prettier than me?" There was sadness in her voice.

"No." Matteo replied.

"Does she have bigger boobs than me?"

"No."

"Does she f**k you better than me? That's what you love." She shouted as she took a step closer to him.

"No."

"Is she more intelligent than me, hard working, caring and loving. Tell me!" She widened her eyes.

"No." Matteo replied with the same calm voice.

"Then why are you leaving me if she is not better than me?"

"She is richer than you, I want to be rich," he

said.

***********

This was the conversation Matteo had with Diana before he divorced her. Diana was devastated and a few days later, she found herself in front of Lucas, a billionaire who could not express his love to a lady. Months later, both Lucas and Diana fell in love and at their wedding ceremony, Matteo came back and presented a fake divorce certificate and said he wanted his wife.

Will Matteo be able to get his wife back? What length will Lucas go to reassure Diana of his love? And lastly, what will Ava do to Matteo when she finds out that Matteo deceived her?

Divorce: marriage anniversary
Diana was running for her life. She could feel the burning flame of fear at her back. In her hand, was her three years old son. Who was after her? The most feared man in Westlake. Some said, "he is a cold man," others said, "he loves loneliness." While the majority of the ladies in the city called him a mystery man. There was a rumor going on that said, "Any lady that goes out with him goes missing." Diana was in her mid twenties. She had lost her dad in a ghastly car accident when she was very tender, and she knew him only from the picture he took with her mom. Since that incident, life has been fair to some extent. Her mom was able to pay the bills and she fell in love with her childhood sweetheart for years until they discovered that they were not medically matched. This resulted in separation and depression. One way she thought she could overcome her pain was to club. For her, this was the easiest way to overcome her reality and then, she met Matteo. At first, it was a staggering relationship and this gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Meanwhile, Diana and Ethan (her childhood sweetheart) started a platonic relationship and they promised to be there for each other. A year later, Diana decided to get married to Matteo. She loved Matteo and was ready to sacrifice everything she had to save her marriage. She knew her husband was going out with a lady called Ava, but she was nurturing the philosophy that said, "Two wrongs don't make a right." How long will she believe in this ideology? Today was the eve of Diana and Matteo's two years marriage anniversary, and Matteo has not been around for a week. Will he come home? ************* Diana was sitting on the couch in her sitting room. She wore a red handless gown. There was a bottle of wine on the center table and two long glasses beside it. She turned her eyes to the wall clock. This was among the countless times she had looked at that clock. It was exactly 9 PM. She took a deep breath and looked very sad. The entire house was quiet and she could hear the clock ticking. She stood up and walked to the window. She gently pushed the grey colored curtains and looked outside to see if she could hear the footsteps of Matteo. The outside was dark as coal after the rays of the outside bulbs. "Will my first marriage anniversary experience repeat itself?" She looked at the wall clock again and sighed. "Our marriage has been going up and down. Matteo comes to this house like a guest. Why am I trapped in this cold love?" She blinked her eyes and tears ran down her cheeks. She walked back to the chair and sat down. "Matteo has not contributed to the growth of this marriage. Tomorrow is our anniversary and he has been away from home for a week. He promised to be here before 6 PM, now three hours have passed. Am I going to wake up in my bed tomorrow without his presence?" She rested her back on the chair and closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, it was ten minutes to ten. Diana stood up and left the sitting room. She entered her room and went straight to the mirror. "Why this makeup the first time?" In anger, she went to the bathroom and washed her face. "He doesn't value me. Why should I value him? Why do I still believe I will win this battle? But I…I love him with all my heart. Why do I love him to this extent despite his uncaring attitude?" She went back to the mirror and she was holding a white towel. She cleaned her face and her eyes were red. As she was about to pull off her gown, she heard the sound of the entrance door. "Is that Matteo?" Her heart went up. She waited and heard the footsteps of someone walking into the sitting room. Then she rushed back to the sitting room and before she could say a word, Matteo put his lips on her mouth, preventing her from talking. He carried her up like a tender baby. "You are drunk," she thought and they kissed from the sitting room while Matteo was carrying her in his hands till they got to the bedroom. He put Diana on the ground and she was about to speak again, Matteo used Diana's fingers to hold her own lips. "Why is he preventing me from saying something?" She thought again. He went to her back and unzipped her gown. As the gown fell to the ground, Matteo went and switched off the light and came back. He removed her bra and carried her on the bed. He put his mouth on her right n****e and used his tongue to tickle it, while his hand was on the other breast. "All my anger just disappeared. Why am I so weak by his touch?" She thought. "Though, this is what I have been waiting for." She gradually moaned as he penetrated her. The room was quiet except for Matteo's breathing and the lovely moaning sound of Diana. After a long thrust and Matteo had climaxed, he left Diana's body and lay on the bed, facing the ceiling. Diana gave him some minutes to rest and when she sensed his breathing had gone down, She moved her body closer to him. "My love, what will our tomorrow look like? Do you have any plans?" "Tomorrow?" He asked as if Diana stumbled into his thoughts. "Don't worry, each day has its own surprise. Please let's sleep. I had a busy day. I want to rest." He kissed her on her forehead and they slept off. Diana woke up from the bed the next morning and saw that she was sleeping alone. "Darling…!" She called and stretched her hands but got no reply. The day was getting bright. Diana thought Matteo was in the sitting room. She stood up and entered the bathroom. After spending a few minutes in the bathroom, she came out. "Darling… where are you?" She increased her voice but got no reply. She left the bedroom and went to the sitting room. When she got there, she saw a brown envelope on the table and opened it. "Where is Matteo?" She thought. As she turned, she saw Matteo coming out of the other room with a big bag. "Why do you want to do this to me?" Her voice filled the entire house and her tear ducts opened at the same time. "Is she prettier than me?" There was sadness in her voice. "No." He rearranged the handle of his bag on his right shoulder while he looked at Diana. "Does she have bigger boobs than me?" "No." "Does she f**k you better than me? That's what you love." She shouted as she took a step closer to him. "No." "Is she more intelligent than me, hard working, caring and loving. Tell me!" She widened her eyes. "No." He used the same calm voice. "Then why are you leaving me if she is not better than me?" "She is richer than you, I want to be rich. When you are rich, nobody can intimidate you and you will not be afraid," he said. ********** An hour later, Diana could not process what she was passing through. She quickly came down from a white cab in front of a two storey building. She slammed the door of the car and before the driver of the car could react, Diana had walked away. The sound of the closing door made people look in her direction. She wore a white gown with stripes of black lines on it. There was great tension in her eyes and as she walked towards the building. Diana was 5"4' tall, with a pear shape. Her long golden hair tumbled over her shoulders. She had full lower lips. Her glossy skin, velvet eyelashes, dainty nose and her rapture-blue eyes set her from her contemporaries. In spite of her sad mood, her cheerful personality was not totally erased from her cheeks. She increased her pace, stretching her long fresh legs and because of her fast movement, her soft buttocks wobbled at will. She only reduced her footsteps when she was about to climb the three stairs in front of the building. "Is Dr. Ethan in his office?" She pointed at the stairs as she was looking into the eyes of the young female secretary. "Yes ma." "Alone?" This time with a slight change of voice. "Yes ma," the lady quickly answered after noticing furiosity in her eyes. Diana was holding the documents of divorce in her right hand as her feet fought against the stairs, increasing the creaking of her little hill shoes against the tiles. A few seconds later, she stood in front of Ethan's door and knocked. "Please come inside," a male voice invited her in. Diana opened the door and the first thing she did was to drop the envelope on the table and burst into tears. "Diana?" The man called and stood up in disbelief and his lips parted. He quickly removed his transparent eye glasses from his eyes and used the back of his knees to push his chair. Diana dragged the visitor's chair backward and sat down. She bowed her head against the furnished table as she wept profusely. Her sudden weeping hindered Ethan from saying anything again. There were emotions in his eyes and he looked at Diana with empathy. This was Ethan, a twenty-six year old counselor. "Why are you crying?" He asked when Diana raised her face. "Today is your anniversary. What will ever make you cry?" Diana opened the envelope while tears were still coming out of her eyes. "Matteo has finally divorced me." "When?" He held the documents, but could not open the pages. Rather, he stood and looked at Diana's face. "He left almost a week ago and came back yesterday and he was drunk. I-I thought I wasn't going to experience what happened the last time…" She struggled to speak as her emotions were looking for ways to come out. "Please relax. I want you to stop talking and rest for a while." Ethan sat down and Diana gradually drew strength from keeping quiet and was looking at Ethan's eyes. Some seconds passed and she resumed again without Ethan's permission. "What have I done wrong? Why does it not pay to be faithful?" Tears kept coming from her eyes, but it didn't affect the quality of her voice. "I have been tolerating him and I thought he will change after our wedding? Please look at me?" She stood up and turned around so that Ethan could see every part of her body. "Am I not good enough for him? What am I lacking? What do men need from a woman apart from beauty, faithfulness and respect? I give Matteo all of these in abundance. But he left, all because he wants to be rich. Matteo has no shame. Does he think that his six pack will always make women fall for him?" Ethan didn't say anything, but was looking at her to pour out her bitter emotions. She hit her right hand on the table and continued, "Today is the worst day of my life. Worse than my first anniversary. My first anniversary, I only wept my eyes to sleep when he never came home. It's not my wish for another man to sleep with me." She suddenly stopped talking and she looked at the small framed family picture of Ethan, his wife and two daughters and she continued, "All I needed was a home. My place of refuge. A place I will be thinking of when I'm at work. A place to calm my nerves. Is that too much to ask?" She stood up again and rested her back against the wall. "I need a man. I need to prove to Ethan that I'm not the incomplete person, but he is the one that is incomplete, wicked and indecisive." Ethan stood up, walked closer to her and spoke with a calm voice. "Diana, this is not the time to invite a man into your life. You need to gather yourself and be strong before taking such a step. In psychology, you are in a state of…" "Stop!" She interrupted. "If you don't want to help me, let me know." She took her face away from his eyes. "Diana," he gently placed his right hand on her shoulder. "You have been my best friend since high school. Apart from my wife, you are my best friend. I know you well the way you know yourself. I want you to be yourself before making such a decision." Diana removed his hand from her shoulder. "Being myself in doing what? How will you understand the way I feel, when you simply read books and take in people's experiences? How would you feel when the one you love betrays you? If you don't want to help me, I'm out of here. Let me do it on my own, and pretend I don't have a friend." She opened the door and as she was about to leave Ethan called her. "Diana… Diana!!" He tried to hold her hand, but Diana quickly dragged herself and closed the door. "Am I getting it wrong?" He opened his two hands and shrugged.
