After my introduction to the school. Mike led me backstage where the others were. There weren't many of us backstage. It was really quiet and no one was talking. I guess it was nerves right? When I turned to talk to Mike he just shook his head at me. So it was probably discipline then. We sat in silence as we got a side view of the rest of the introductions. There were three more people after me. The principle walked in backstage as the last person was being introduced. She then dismissed the rest of the school and walked towards us.  "Welcome newbies." She addressed us. She didn't give us the opportunity to respond before she continued. "The person that introduced you today will be your buddy. Your buddy is someone who will help you settle in faster and help you meet new people. They will explain everything to you. Hope you all have a wonderful first day here at Alvinore. Everyone is dismissed except for Brenda and Mike. I need to have a word with you two." Once everyone had left she spoke "Michael I need you to be extremely close with Brenda. Today is her first day at school and this environment is very new to her. So you won't be doing regular buddy tasks. You will have to help her with textbooks, her timetable, class etiquette and so on. Do you understand what is expected of you?" She asked him Yes ma'am I do." He answered. "Okay then good. I will check up on the both of you in a month's time. And welcome to Alvinore High." She said to me before heading off to where I presumed was her office. "Hey." Mike said once she was gone. "Hi. I didn't know you went to Alvinore." I said to him. "And I didn't know you were coming. Last i heard you were home being schooled." He said smiling. "Yeah well  I guess I had a change of heart." I said giving him a smile of my own.  "Come on we  have a lot to do today." He said. I couldn't help but feel excited. Was I going to meet my teachers. Would they like me or hate me? Are the students friendly. Would the textbooks be the same ones my parents use? The most exciting part of all these questions was that I ididnt know the answers to them yet. "So what are we doing first? Are we getting my textbooks now?" I asked him as we walked out the door. "No. We're not doing anything like that today." He said. I gave him a so what will we be doing then?  look. "I am going to introduce you to everyone I know."                                                                                   ♧ "Today isn't a normal school day." He told me earlier. "The first day of each term is the only day we have days like this one." And what he meant by that is no one had to go to class. This was done so that the 'newbies', a.k.a me, could meet people easily on the first day. So basically school only starts tomorrow. Let me tell you meeting everyone he knew was exhausting. He knew pretty much everyone.  "Are we done yet?" I asked. We were sitting on a bench. We had a beautiful view in front of us. It was just grass and an old oak tree. It was really big though.  "For now we are. But if there is someone I want you to meet then you will meet them." "Oh great!" I replied sarcastically. "Why do you know so many people." It was a rhetorical question so I didn't expect his answer. "So in primary school I was never the person people wanted to talk to or be friends with. I was a quiet, sit alone type of guy. I was hella smart so I think that intimidated people. I also never did sports." "Well you've definately turned your image around. Look at you now. I mean I also have my own problems though. I haven't really been able to discover who I am. And I'm insecure on my the way I look." I said avoiding eye contact. "Yeah. I didn't want to be that person anymore. I joined the rugby team and gained homies at the same time. I get the whole finding yourself thing. What I don't get is why you're insecure about your looks?" "Well I'm not as pretty as other girls." I know myself. I've looked in the mirror countless times. I know a pretty girl when I seen one. I'm not saying I'm ugly but I'm not the ripest apple on the tree. "Let me given you a piece of advice . Me as a guy, I really don't like girls who compare themselves to other girls based on their looks. That's how you put yourself down. Don't do that. Don't break yourself before someone's even had the opportunity to tell you how beautiful you are."  I'm sorry but I couldn't help but blush. I mean come on. Any girl or boy  (maybe) would have melted too if they heard that. "Promise me you'll take my advice." He said holding out his pinky finger. I would have laughed but then I saw the seriousness on his face.  "Promise." I said hooking my pinky onto his. I liked the feel of his fingers. I wanted to play with them or just trace my fingers on his hand.  "Can I ask?" I said before I did something that would reveal my intentions.  "Shoot." "What's this thing about Andrew wanting to initiate me? You never told me that night and I didn't fuss over it because I didn't really know if i was going to see you again." "You thought we were never going to see each other again?"  "Yeah. I had forgotten about your relation to Ay." "Yeah 'cause its not like we started talking on her phone." He said sarcastically. When I opened my mouth I meant to laugh but I yawned instead. Weird. "What am I boring you?" He asked. "No. I'm just really worn out from meeting all those people." I said "Oh if you are tired then sleep on my lap." He suggested. I didn't believe that he actually suggested that. "Really?" "Yeah." "Like for reals yeah?" "No Bree, for fake yeah." He said rolling his eyes. I pushed him lightly. As if to say stop being sarcastic but also don't stop. "Sleep! If you're tired, you're tired." Fine I said in my head. But only because he was insisting. I lay my head on his thighs. "Damn! You're thighs are so hard its likenim sleeping on the floor." "Well its called being fit." "Yeah well that's not what need right now." I said looking up at him from his my position on his thighs. "Oh so when do you need it?" He asked raising an eyebrow. How was I supposed to answer that. And what was he trying to say? He probably meant nothing by it because he was taking off his jersey. "Here."  He offered it to me. "Thanks." I said folding the jersey to make a jersey-pillow. With the jersey-pillow under my head I could really smell his scent. It was intoxicating but in a good way. I soon fell asleep thinking of what deodorant or perfume he uses. I don't know how long I was asleep for but I woke up to Mike and Ay talking. I kept my eyes closed while I listened to their conversation. "...already?" Mike asked. I think.   "Yeah and it is really important to her." Ay said. Wait were they talking about me? "So where should we meet? The Quad?" "Yeah but let me leave before you wake her up." "Well obviously Ay. I'm not stupid." I heard her laugh a little before leaving. After some time, I'm guessing when Mike couldn't see Ay anymore, he woke me up.
