CHAPTER 48: Reasons
“A-are they safe? My Dad? Is he safe?”
I turned towards Rina as I asked those questions in a hushed yet hurried voice.
My mind started wandering. What could have happened? Did the Stygians attack the town? Did they get inside the Wilson’s mansion? Or was Amanda taken because she was out late at night? But how come they’re so many? What exactly were the Stygians doing? Are they really... waging a war?
Goosebumps rose on my arms at the mere thought of that. I gripped on the hem of my shirt. The thought of having the very thing they want was making me all the more nervous about the situation.
I have what they want, and they already know I have it. What was going to happen to me now?
