CHAPTER 49: Hidden Power
Heavy footsteps came running towards me as I saw those heeled shoes slowly fading into thin air, like a fading misty image of a person. I couldn’t even grimace at the pain that I was still feeling as I felt myself getting too weak.
It was as if the heat was consuming me. My energy. My entirety.
I felt my eyes drop to a close. I felt the burning pain searing throughout my entire body again. I clutched my chest when the pain centered in there. Burning. Excruciating.
