Abuse & The past

  When Ichirou came home he made sure Kousuke was settled into the room prepared for him before going to his own studio. He figured Mizuki would want to know everything that happened so he went into his room to tell his boyfriend all about what happened earlier that night. "Hey sorry I'm late I hope you weren't worrying too much " Ichirou kissed his boyfriend's cheek " huh what's wrong were you so worried you started to cry?" Ichirou looked at Mizuki in shock drawing him close so he could comfort him " huh no I wasn't crying because of Kousuke I know how his father is and I knew he was safe with you guys " Ichirou stared at his boyfriend if he wasn't crying from being worried about Kousuke what had made Mizuki cry " don't give me that look Ichi it's nothing serious I was just cleaning that room and I might have peeped in things I shouldn't have what do you know about that guy anyways?" Mizuki looked like a dog begging for food Ichirou sighed and hugged him close " hmm I don't know too much he was a half breed his real name is some English name he is the step son of some wealthy man but because he took after his mother's fathers family looking more foreign he was particularly shunned, He ended up moving in here somehow I don't know the details he was friends with my dad and was at the funeral he moved  from here when I was about ten he became a novelist whenever he came to town he would come back here I heard he is settling down now with his life time partner we might get to meet him  at the picnic  many old tenants come for it but it's been a long time since any of the original 6 have been here all at once"   Mizuki's interest had been peaked again "Original six huh?" Ichirou chuckled "You are pretty curious today huh alright I'll tell you I don't know much about it but I heard there was some old man that let  six troubled youth live in his building for free or for as much as they could afford or free labor the original six were the first  of the  hundreds of youths to  stay in his building they were the only ones who had permanent rooms with name plates on the doors where as everyone else had numbers" Mizuki looked confused " so then this building has six doors with name plates?" Ichirou laughed " you are catching on Silence or Shy Lance is one of the original six this room also belongs to one of the original six so does the room  the old folks live in " Mizuki's eyes widened again "wait so you mean  the photo I saw those were the original six?" Ichirou wore a mischievous grin. How about you reward me for telling you everything I have told you already " he enjoyed watching his boyfriend pout "that's not fair! tell me then I'll give you any reward you want!" Ichirou  smirked "Any reward? " Mizuki continued to pout  and rolled his eyes " YES! Annnny reward " Ichirou smiled brightly " I don't know but I'm pretty sure  there was a guy who lived here before them  so there is actually seven but the seventh  who is actually the first died" Mizuki pretended to sulk " you cheater you tricked me" Ichirou smiled brightly "not my fault you thought I knew more than I do anyways how about you give me my reward in bed with the lights off "  now it was Mizuki's turn to smirk "that sounds more like I'm being rewarded " then he winked before turning the light next to him off.

Kousuke sat on the unfamiliar bed, his body  in agony how could he have been so careless he had been so happy with Yuichi he forgot about his father's hatred somehow he now felt relieved even though his father disowned him he would now be free of those stiff dinners . When his parents had divorced he had thought he had been set free from his father's rigid ways but what father demanded father got he didn't care that Kousuke had no interest in the business Kousuke wanted to be a medic or  a social worker someone who made a difference maybe open a youth center and make sure the youth were healthy , he didn't want to be sitting behind a desk all day. He liked being able to move around being an accountant wasn't in his plans for the future but his father wanted him to work for him as  his own personal accountant and secretary until he retired then let Kousuke take over the business even though he knew nothing about electronics and shipping. He was worried about Yuichi. He had taken it hard when he heard his father had beaten him just because he was hanging out with him. Yuichi was sure he was to blame as they actually weren't even dating it just didn't make sense besides it wasn't Yuichi's fault if someone else hated homosexuals . Yuichi had to go home since he had family visiting but he had promised to visit him after school since there was no way Kousuke was going to school in the state he was in. He was sure his ribs had been broken  but he hadn't wanted to make a fuss and stay in the hospital. As he wondered how he would get changed he heard a knock on the door " knock knock we are here with a doctor to patch you up , and don't pretend you are okay I've been where you are already"  Kousuke was surprised to hear Ren had ever been  in the same state as him " really?" "yeah I was about eleven at the time you see I was an unwanted child my father hated the fact I was born one day  he caught me kissing a boy in the garden though really that guy was trying to take advantage of my confusion but he told my father I seduced him and so my old man beat the snot out of me he beat me so bad I was in the hospital for two months that started a war between him and Mizuki's father who happens to be his twin which just earned me more of my fathers scorn. I ended up living with my grandmother after my father's abuse started to get more and more violent I hated Mizuki for having such a loving good father but I couldn't hate him when I got to know him and take care of him  when I saw the real Mizuki who was no happier than me who was neglected and abandoned too. I take it as my responsibility to take care of my juniors who are not getting the proper love and guidance they need , Kousuke we hope you know that we will always be on your side even if the rest of the world turns their back on you this place here can always be a place you come home to " Kousuke hadn't noticed that while Ren was talking to him  a doctor had  been tending to him.

He looked up at Ren curiously " how are you and your father now that you are a grown up?" Ren smiled a sardonic smile "after my grandmother died my mother and father blamed Mizuki and I for her death they harassed us and caste me out the family for good but once I started to make more money than their household they tried to suck up to me your father I'm afraid to say just might try the same" Kousuke shook his head "my father would rather die then bow his head to me ever so I am not counting on him  to come crawling back asking for forgiveness or anything" "that is all for the best if the man could do something like this to you he doesn't deserve forgiveness now stay put it will hurt as I wrap your ribs I'm afraid there isn't much I can do for them luckily its only two ribs but it will hurt a lot and you can't  do gym you need to take it easy move as little as possible" "OUCH!!!!" he squeaked as the doctor wrapped his body with a bandage tears fell from his eyes " These are some painkillers take them when you need them but make sure you only take one at a time if you need anything else just ask for Dr. Kentaro at the clinic down the street now take one of the pills and get some sleep" the doctor pushed a pill bottle and a bottle of water into his unresisting hands " what about the bill?" he asked feeling  delirious from pain "I intend to get it from your dirtbag father don't worry about anything I'll get it from him one way or another" he could have sworn the doctor had a sinister expression on his face for a moment  but ended up passing out unable to handle the pain of two broken ribs. As he slept the pain faded from Kousuke's face and his breathing got lighter. They watched him a few moments before they stood up . Ren gently tucked Kousuke in being careful not to touch  him and aggravate his injuries and made sure there was a full pitcher of water next to the bed should he wake up thirsty or in need of more pain medication  after making sure everything was in order they headed towards the door Ren sigh as he opened the door. 

Kentaro followed Ren out the room " to think there are still so many asshole fathers out there huh" Kentaro remarked as they shut the door " that's one thing everyone that stays here  has in common isn't it we almost all had assholes for parents" Ren sighed "at least none of us turned into asshole parents though some of us have dated assholes" Kentaro couldn't help but laugh as he spoke the laughter spoke volumes of irony "Shiloh ditched me so long ago and yet I'm so hooked on him what he did was so cruel now I heard he's coming back to town after seven years I almost feel like knocking him out if I see him " Ren patted his old friend on the shoulder "well that would definitely shock him speechless though I am sure that seeing how much you  have grown as a man will shock him more you got some guts getting all masculine and buff on us, you want to join Yuji and I for a night cap?" " not tonight old friend I've got far too much on my mind I think I'll just call it a night and head to my studio " Ren smiled he knew how Kentaro was feeling at the moment  he had also just found out about Shiloh returning " when will you take the elevator like the rest of us old people" he teased as Kentaro made his way to the stairwell " when I am too old to walk up three flights of stairs with ease though maybe in a year or two I'll mooch a studio on a lower floor off someone Suzy has moved on and started a family right so her room should be free" the men laughed together then both went their separate ways one taking the stairs while the other  waiting for the elevator knowing he would reach their floor first . "How is Kousuke?" Ren had barely gotten into the room when Yujirou popped up next to him looking like a mother fretting over her child, Ren found himself falling in love with Yujirou all over again " Ken Chan took care of him as best as he could while I distracted him with a story about my sleazebag of a father" Yujirou peered into Ren's eyes with open concern "times have become painful haven't they we need to take good care of ourselves so we can be there for our brothers, cousins, nephews and sons these are our family members we need to make things comfortable safe and manageable for them just like we had all once been taken care of behind these same walls under this exact same roof" Ren smiled hugging his most treasured person "you know I don't think I could ever live without you , you are my Eden the mother of the pack , the lover that nourishes and guides me sharing everything in this life with me. I feel truly blessed having you let's take care of our family honey, we need to help heal their wounds as much as we can so let's go and get a head start on things okay you go to Jaden Bar and see if Shiloh is there I'm going to go talk to my uncle and his wife" Yujirou smiled and kissed his lover "you are my soulmate forever thank you big poku" the two men shared several kisses "alright Yuji let's help our family" the two  left hand in hand  knowing soon they would pass the warmth they shared to someone who needed their care. As they got outside each of them hailed a taxi and drove off into the night determined to find a way to make their loved ones smile. A smile that was a little less forced.
