Danika had no idea what she had said at all, but I remembered. I knew those words because they had been repeated to me before, almost exactly the same way, by a woman who should love me, but betrayed me.

I was not going to make that mistake again.
My vision tinged with red as I allowed the beast inside to take over and suddenly, I was so full of rage and wrath, and the only thought in my head was bloodshed and gore. I wanted to kill Danika.
