Chapter one.
When the Sun came down humbly and welcoming the night, the television automatically flashed on, it was time for the late news, showing that it was about 5: 45 pm. He liked his favourite news broadcast and had it set as default. The night was giving a cool surrounding. Here comes nothing other than the news, his emotions was navigated, jumping on his bed before the start of Kenneth Smart’s outstanding performance on the news stage.
“Good evening our lovely viewers and listeners, I’m Kenneth Smart bringing to you, our late news. We are willing you all to enjoy today’s late news, right on this television station, the mumber one television station in the whole wide world. To have our television station to be on the top list, please vote for us..... But before we proceed, let start with our Society watch news.”
He jumped off his bed and have vote selected, but was not taken by the computer. He was just less than the required age, 17, his mother caught his changing mood, and voted for him to satisfy and maintain his emotions. “Thank you mummy,” he said lightly, and ready to see Kenneth Smart on his screen. He had in his hand a teddy bear, and standing straight before Kenneth Smart showed on his screen.
“Technology is advancing to the great extent that, people are always thinking of technology, Yeah, funny right, but this has become a serious canker in the word today, our living world. It has been four years now when formal education went extinct, well not that extinct. Yeah, right after this program, we’re going to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the extinction of formal education.
Technology is taking our world, technology is swallowing the world. Nobody cares more recently about the natural resources that we depends on, we’re always on our time devil, our PH17.
This technology was created for good, but we cannot say it’s all bad. PH17 has a money earning game, that everybody is depending on rather than extending the knowledge of creation and extinction. Real-life is the game we’re talking about, the game that is swallowing the world. This game was created by Game Pool. Many life’s are failing because of this stupid game. Ranging from first age to infinity all engage in this money earning app, which has become their time devil of education. What can we say? What can we do? And what can we leave behind to continue our human generation rather than the human support generation.”
Television switched off, the boy sat quietly not knowing the reason his mother turned off the television, she knew that was his favourite television station and she will not regret to have the television still on, but why? Robots are now deciding and thinking for humans. Technology is occupying the population of people on earth, this is embarrassing, they’re dressing us, feeding us, shopping for us, singing, dancing, apparently, doing everything for us. And moreover our companion instead of our family. The world is really changing.
“Mum I hope you’re not a robot as well right.” The boy asked her mother.
Here comes no response, the boy was confused, he couldn’t distinguish between a real human and a robot, because he have never seen a human before, the robots are well manufactured to suit the human identity genuinely.
“Mum I’ll be eight years by midnight , I’m growing all into a big boy, I’ll be like you.”
“I know, it’s time for bed, come on let go to your room.”
“Mum will you allow me to have an account, I want to be a player.”
“No! Technology is advancing massively, and taking the real time of people away. Real-life will take your time away, time is so momentous that a second should not be waisted my boy, and this, the humans aren’t realizing....”
“What, the humans..”
“I mean we humans, aren’t even realizing our time is taken by all this technology. I don’t want you to be taken by this time waster, even our own formal education, that brought us into existence is failing. It’s like a load on a pointed sloppy mountain, it’s unstable, and may slide over the the surface of the mountain to the valley.
“What, I don’t understand all that you’re saying, because you’re a player and I deserve to be a player too.”
“You’re just tired, you need to go to bed, have a good sleep.”
“ Good night mum. Love you”
The news was running in the boy’s brain, that made him still awake, looking into the window and looking at how technology has advanced made him astonished.
Look at the flying trains, the very tall buildings all made by the hands of human.
The boy wanted to become a hero, so he was waiting for the “Screened wanted people.” And here was a man on the screen, fair in complexity, brown hair, pointed nose and genius face. He was wanted to be accused and stand before the law of robots. The “screened wanted people” only last for twenty minutes. When the screen went out, it left the boy with many questions, and whispering his thoughts
“What has this man does.”
“Why are they looking for the man?”
“He is handsome.”
Moving her hands slightly over the glass window, and gazing unclearly from the four hundred and sixty-seventh floor of the shortest epic building. Look at all the people moving up and down, there and there to get home. When will I get down there, to observe the surroundings, it has been eight years now, just always starring through the window to feel the surrounding.
With a pathetic emotion on his face, he saw a cockroach moving opposite to him, thereby he squalled!! And moved from his bed in mixed of emotions, he fall to the ground, she stood up quickly and grabbed his bear in great fear, he couldn’t stand on his feet, he was shaking.
He hasn’t ever had the experience of observing nature. The city was full of decorative lights, and beautiful designed epic buildings. His mother knocked and barged in.
“What is it , what was that shout for, and why are you not sleeping?”
“ It’s something, something is at the window, some wired creature.”
From quick glance, his mother got to know what it was, it’s okay my son.
“It’s just a cockroach, let go you’ll be sleeping in my room, and I’ll occupy your room okay.”
“No, what if we sleep together, I’m really afraid Mum.”
“Okay, but under one condition, you just have to close your eyes and sleep.”
His mother wasn’t an engine robot, she was a chargeable robot, at that instance, her battery percentage was leveled down to five, the hibernation mode.
As she carried his son to her room, her system suddenly shut down. She was standing immobile, not moving even a single muscle. The boy was confused why her mother stopped, the boy merely thought her mother was taking something from the hanger. After his mother standing immovable for seven minutes, he began to question himself why they’re still standing. He was too sleepy, he dozed off.
The day defeated night ones again, the boy found herself in her mother’s room, on a soft pillow. I’m eight years, jumping on his mother’s bed in ecstatic. It was 5: 47 am, her mother barged in, not knowing the cause of his happiness. She stood on the bed with a smile on her smooth face, watching her mother.
“Mum I happy, I’m eight years, just nine more years to go.”
“Good for you, my son.”
“Mum what’s your age now, you told me when I’m eight you’ll let me know. So tell me please.”
“The government sent you an s-mail yesterday.”
“What did they say, I’m I allowed to go out and feel the environment now.”
“Haven’t I asked you not to look into the window anymore, I should’ve scolded you yesterday for your actions.”
“Mum what’s happening, I can’t go out, and you’re blocking me from observing the environment, our environment just through a window. I’m tired always been kept inside here.”
“Listen you’re obviously not the only child on this tower, you don’t have to be disobedient, okay! Just listen to what I say and it’ll keep you safe.”
“It’s enough mum, enough, enough... if the other children don’t want to go out I want to , what’s actually the big deal about this, can’t I have freedom a little and manage my time, other than always been under your rules and demands.”
“Yeah, everything shows that you’re now eight years.”
“So I need a little space mum, just a little Okay.”
His mother went out, and he was left solely in the room crying for freedom. Just a little freedom, just a little. He crowed from the bed to his room, but his room was deactivated, he couldn’t get access to his code nor his facial unlock. He sat in front of his door furious and silent. His mother locked her door and set out to the city.
There was no room unclosed for him, he had an idea to run into the city and enjoy the surrounding. He touched the door handle, and there was a vibration, he tempted and tempted, but he was denied. This created a knot in his head, he really got to believe that he was under the control of a robot. He started to believe her mother isn’t a human but might be a real robot. Thousands of questions was running through his brain.
Walking at the sitting room he watched closely at the ceiling, trying to know what it is made of, but he had no idea. He saw something, resembling a camera at the corner of all the ceiling joints. It’s probably human design, he said, not knowing he was been watched at every single move. “I’m starving,” he said. And there was a sound like a soft machine working, and right on the dining table, her food was served. Whooaw this is super cool! What ever you need, you just have say it! I need water and it was served. He had it to ask for freedom, he did and the door opened...
There his mother came in, he was downhearted.
