The beginning
“Arghhhh” I screamed as I read the letter. It was from the police department. My legs felt like jelly and I quickly sat down on the couch.
‘We hereby inform you miss Alycia Miller that your court date is May 7, 2020. You are accused of buying a teaser online for personal use……’
I can’t believe this. What the f**k. I have never even thought about buying any kind of weapon. A f*****g TEASER!! This is just not happening. Tears ran down my cheeks - like a waterfall.
I swept the tears away and found my phone. I dialed my dad’s number and called him. He didn’t pick up. I tried once more, and once more. After calling him three times he finally picked up his phone.
“Hey, I was just in the shower. Everything OK?”
My eyes were once again filled with tears.
“Alycia!? Are you alright?”
“No. I just received a letter from the police department.”
“What are you talking about?”
“It says that I bought a teaser online.”
My dad stopped talking. After a minute or two he finally said…
“I’m so sorry. This wasn’t supposed to happen.”

I stood by my father facing our shed. We didn’t live in a big city, but it wasn’t small either. Our house had three bedrooms and a living room. It’s small but cozy. Everyone that entered immediately felt at home.
I hadn’t looked inside our shed for years. Last time was maybe five or six years ago. I know it’s filled with crap. Old toys and clothes…… and a ton of spiders. I truly hate bugs.
“What is so important we have to do this?” I asked my dad. “Can’t you just tell me? I really don’t want to face the spiders.” He kept looking at his feet as he said “It’s important. You have to see this. You might not believe me otherwise.”
What in god’s name was he talking about. Of course, I would believe him. He is my father. He is family. Family looks out for each other, trust each other and always tells the truth. That is how he and my mom raised me. Or so I thought…...
“Click” The key turned inside the lock. The doors opened and my jaw just dropped 30 centimeters. I was in shock. I was in denial. Even though it was covered in black fabric I already knew what it was. My dad went to pull the fabric off of it. A f*****g BIKE.
“Where did you get this? Where did you get the money to buy this? Does mom know?” I couldn’t stop asking questions. “Well” he started. “Mom knows, but she does not approve and I bought it with my own money.” What the f**k. What the f**k. f**k!!! “YOU BOUGHT A HARLEY DAVIDSON WITH YOUR OWN MONEY?” I yelled. “With what money?”
