Chapter 7

Logan’s POV *One hour later* It had been an hour into this game that I’ve created and so far it was backfiring on me. Most of the girls that my team brought up to the section were seeking my attention. And the boys well…. How do I put it? Jayson was doing well. I laughed internally as I saw at least 3 of the girls that were straight like a lowercase L all over him and he didn’t have the slightest interest but played anyway. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Chad and Nate were failing massively.  “Come on ladies. There’s only one Logan. I’m sure not all of you can fit into her cope…” Nate said as he slid onto the couch. Nate has been trying the hardest. And from what I can tell Chad has given up.  “So I guess you’ve never heard of Uber?” One of the girls fired back.  “So you’ll pay just to sleep with her is that what you’re saying,” Nate said quickly raising his eyebrows.  Another girl answered him and she was the closest to me. She was leaning, putting her body weight and what assets she had on her chest onto my arm. All while rubbing on my thigh. I could tell she had been drinking, not a lot just enough to get the courage to come up here and to get close enough and grab my attention. “Honey I paid to just get the chance to see her..” she started off saying. “What’s a few more dollars to end up in her bed?” That last part she whispered to me and me alone. Although her offer is tempting and I do mean very. She is attractive, has long hair and I didn’t care if it was real or not. She looked to be down with whatever frustrations I needed to work out for the night.  However, I wasn’t in the mood. Far from it. Which was strange and odd. I had been drinking but not too much. It was just enough to get me to loosen up. However, my body didn’t crave s*x. I stood up and looked at the couch full of women. They all looked back at me with a strong s****l gaze. “Ladies… I’ll be back. Maybe I don’t know. Meanwhile, enjoy yourselves up here with drinks and food on me.”  I turned and walked towards the sliding glass that had the view of the city in its sights. I pointed at two of the security guards to come to me. “Unless it’s the boys or staff I’d like to not be bothered. One stays here and watches the door. The other makes sure the girls are happy.” They both nodded with understanding looks. I walked outside and took in that fresh California air. Letting out the deepest sigh. I couldn’t help but to be captivated by the lights of the city outshining most of the stars in the sky. Only one stood the brightest and I like to imagine it was my grandmother sometimes. Every time I came here at night there the star was as if it was her watching over me.  “I know it’s been a while since I’ve talked to you. Or maybe towards you... I don’t know how any of this works… I just know I miss you so much, Nana. I’m sorry I never got to say goodbye. It seems that’s a habit of mine. Those who leave me I never get to say goodbye. The community is doing great and business is booming like you loved to say. I’ve grown up so much so fast since you’ve been gone. And soon I'll become an official billionaire.. but I promise Nana I would trade it all just to see you again. I feel like my heart is fading… I have the boys and the village but everyone I’ve cared about is gone or dead. What am I supposed to do… all the money in the world has made me colder.” I sniffled a little bit. Biting back the tears. When my grandmother passed at the funeral I didn’t cry, I just couldn’t. Even now I just can’t. I was out of tears. Everyone I loved the most was gone.  “You know, I’ve never seen you like this before. It hurts man. You know what you’re supposed to do.” A voice said softly. I turned around already knowing it was Jayson.  “Jayson…? What’s wrong? Don’t tell me that the girls are too much for our starting quarterback?” I tried to lighten and laugh through the situation. Jayson’s face was unchanged. Jayson was dark skinned and with long dark locs. His eyes were dark brown and soft. Jayson can make anyone comfortable and is always there for you. Completely different than what his slightly intimidating features gave off. However, you look too long into his eyes and you see nothing but understanding and warmth.  He walked up to me and stared at the sky with me. “No, the girls are never too much for me. I had to get a break.” He sighed out.  “Know? I’m happy you came out here. I need to talk to you about something. So, I heard that you still haven’t found an internship for your medical degree. Why not ?” “It’s not like I haven't been trying, I have. But between football coming up and how long the season is. No one is trying to take me. It’s always ‘we know you’re going pro so why waste your time and a potential spot for someone that really wants to do this.’ No one is willing to take the risk.” Jayson is exactly what I've been saying all night. Our star and starting quarterback. He’s ranked to go number one in the draft. However, he’s already told me he doesn’t want to go. At least not right away. He’s always wanted to be a doctor. He fought with his coaches on being so. They wanted him to change his major to something simple so he can practice and follow the schedule and won’t have a heavy overload. However, just like me, Jayson declined and kept a busy schedule.  “Yeah I’ve heard that too. So what are you going to do man? Graduation will be here sooner than you know it.” “Yeah I know.” He said looking defeated.  “Well I have something for you.” I had a piece of paper folded in my pocket. I pulled it out and handed it to him. He looked so confused about the contents of the paper. “Come man, you’re not going to know what it is until you open it.”  He unfolded the paper and quickly read was what’s written on it. He looked up at me excited as ever. And quickly grabbed me into a bear hug before I could protest. “Are you serious Logan?! How did you? Thank you so much. This is the best hospital in California! Everyone in our school got rejected. How?” “Alright alright let me go and I’ll tell you I promise.” I nearly passed out from the hug. Man the boy was strong. “Before I get to that. There’s a condition. You have to pass this semester in the top five even with football. Do that and the top hospital in Cali will be yours. As to how. Let’s just say I made an honorable donation and this is thanks to my hefty contribution.”  He chuckled and smirked as he let me down. “To be honest Logan, I shouldn’t accept it. It feels wrong.” “Jayson, your dedication to medicine is what got you here. I just gave you a boost in the connection department. Connections are important.” I placed my hand on his shoulder smiling at him. Jayson had my back, put up with my temper, helped me find the ways of meditation, and he has never once pushed me to open up to him. He’s just there to listen.  “I don’t know what to say Logan, honestly I could kiss you right now.” He joked laughing at my horrid expression.  “Yeah keep dreaming pretty boy. You may be pretty but you ain’t got the thing I need. And that my boy is in there waiting for you.” “Yeah more like waiting for you. Speaking of… I heard about Ariel.. Are you good? Be honest.” “To be honest man, yeah. She said we were dating and somehow got everyone to accept it, even me. I don’t know how and why I went along with it.”  “Because I’m the one that was made for you baby,” another voice said interrupting our conversation. That voice, her voice... Ariel was here. I turned to face her. She was wearing a red short dress and it was seductive as it could be. Six inch red bottom stilettos, her hair was braided into butterfly locs which she had it in a bun to show off her neck and shoulder tattoos. Face with lightly covered makeup. And of course, red lipstick to match. If this was anyone else who hadn’t met her before with her looks alone she could murder. Her eyes are brown and are full of danger, as full as her lips. And she knew she was a danger. Hence the situation I was in now. She was the situation.  I felt Jayson's mood drop as he was unfazed as I was by her seductive voice. But he was captivated by the way she moved towards us. With such confidence and grace, she is easily the attention grabber. Demanding to be the centerpiece.  “Baby-“ she started talking to me. I instantly cut her off.  “Why and how did you get here.” She walked straight towards me. Ignoring the irritation in my voice.  “Jayson, just go I got it from here, I need to talk to my girlfriend.” She waved him off as if he was the staff. He looked at me with a concerned look on his face as if he knew I wouldn’t survive this game she was playing. I looked at him and gave him a nod. He nodded back and went back into the party.  “Ariel… Why are you here? I’m starting to lose whatever patience I have with you.” I said aggressively, thinking that would ward her off. Instead, she came closer pushing me against the railing leaving no space for our bodies. She pressed her body on me, trying to take advantage of the alcohol I had been drinking.  “I don’t need an excuse to come here and see my girlfriend. And maybe f**k her with this amazing view.” She whispered that last part into my ear, biting down on my lobe. I would be a liar if I said she wasn’t turning me on and I was half tempted to take her right here and now. But the matter is that she cheated and this was over.  I grabbed her, creating distance between me and her. If she continues to do what she was doing I would most definitely be f*****g her tonight. “No, go f**k whoever you’re f*****g behind my back Ariel. I don’t care if your mother is the dean of the university. And I don’t care that you’re sorry either. Leave.”  The look on her face was unfazed by anything I was saying. “What does it matter who I was sleeping with. You haven’t touched me in months, I got lonely and I have needs, Logan. But I only want to be with you.” She said grabbing my womanhood. I couldn’t help but clench my jaw and let out an encouraging moan, the liquor was betraying me. “All that stress from working, basketball, and your training you have to be sexually tense.” She tried to close the gap between us but my hands were unmoving. She smirked and whispered, “ I am willing to bet. You’re wet and horny as f**k right now. Just let me finally touch what’s mine and I promise I’ll stop cheating.”  My body shivered at every word she was spitting at me. Enunciating every word. But where she messed up was mentioning the cheating. “Yeah?” I questioned letting her come closer. “Yeah, once I’m inside. None of this will matter. I came here for you. I only c*m for you and that’s a fact.” She said. And I knew it was a f*****g lie. Yet here I am entertaining this s**t. Really I had to blame it on the alcohol.  “Doubtful,” I said as I placed my hands on her shoulders and moved her aside. “Sad, but you’re a liar. I’m better off taking my chances with the women inside this club. You understood who I was and what I do. Yet and still, you forced this relationship and you’re the one who broke it down. When truly I didn’t want it in the first place!” I spoke with such anger and irritation. I hate being lied to and Ariel was the queen of lies.  “So what now? You move on? I don’t think so.” She chuckled leaning against the railing. Who did she think she was? Other than the dean's daughter she didn’t have as much money as I did. Meaning I had more power to make things happen. “You think you don’t belong to me but you do. No one would dare.” “I guess you don’t get it. You don’t scare me. I have more money than you and more power than you.”  She just laughed. Laughing as if I was telling a joke. As if I’m a f*****g joke. “Money? Not everything is about money, Logan. And you’re new money and my family, my mother is OLD money. Whoever you think will be in your life other than me I’ll make their life hell. You only have who I allow.”  “I’m done here get the f**k out of my club Ariel. NOW!” This girl knows how to make my skin boil. I was clenching my teeth so hard that I thought they would break. She just walked past me with a smile and then left. I was furious beyond furious I was I don’t even f*****g know.  I walked back into the club and grabbed the security guard by the collar. “What part of my boys and only STAFF DO YOU NOT f*****g UNDERSTAND.”  “Sorry, ma’am I didn’t know you guys broke up. I’m so so so sorry.” He begged. I pushed him and told him to get out of my face. The section got bigger since I left more women. I’m sure it was the boys doing but after tonight I was f*****g done.  “Hey, it’s going to be fine. Wanna get out of here?” The girl from earlier who said she paid to see me came straight to me. I wanted to tell her f**k off but, I needed a damn distraction from not grabbing Ariel by her neck. And knowing her she’ll like that s**t I hand to release this somehow. She looked directly into my cold eyes and showed slight signs of fear but she knew what would follow if she came home with me tonight. I was frustrated with Ariel's empty threat that I couldn’t have anyone but her. Who the hell was she to tell me who I can or can’t f**k.  “You know what, let's go. Boys I’m out.” I look over to the boys who gave me a couple of head nods. I walked over to the head of security detail. His name is James, “Send me the bill once my boys leave.” I said walking past him. “You got it, Logan, be safe.” He responded.  **** I woke up with a headache and my body hurt so bad. I sat up a little quickly causing my brain to pulse. ‘Damn it I think I drank too much when I came home’ I thought to myself. Quickly I inspected myself to find the results of last night's events. I was down to my white tank and my underwear. Mentally I sighed and then looked over to the other side of the bed and found a body with long red hair in it. I slid over to her and shook her. “Hey wake up. It’s time for you to go.” I spoke. She just turned around towards me and frowned, groaning. Looking at her body closely, so I could clearly see what happened after the club. ‘What the hell did I do last night’ I thought to myself. Her neck was covered with red hickeys as if she was in a domestic relationship. Red spots all over her neck and collarbone area. I just would hate to pull back the covers and find out where other marks I left.  “Just five more minutes I’m a little worn out. I mean we just stopped maybe two hours ago. Unless you want me to finally give you some release too. You’ve been so giving last night that you didn’t let me return the favor.” She replied without opening her eyes. I really didn’t have time for this. Luckily this wasn’t my main house. I decided to take her to the penthouse when we left the club. The penthouse is in between the club and my main office for work. It was bought for situations like her.  “Look you can’t stay here long. I have a meeting and things to do.” I said coldly. It was true and I’d hate to be late since I’m going on vacation this upcoming Thursday. There were people to get in line and meetings to handle and today was day one.  “If you think I’m scared of Ariel then you have the wrong girl. I also know how these things go with people like you. You don’t look like the committed type.” She quickly answered me with a smirk on her face. Not going to lie, her response somewhat got to me. I’m not asking everyone to be scared of someone that doesn’t exist anymore. She’s making it seem like I do this often.  Her smirk infuriated me even more, “look if you know how this goes then get out when you clean yourself up I’m out..” I said getting up from the bed and quickly dressed myself in what I had on last night. While searching for my phone on the dresser I felt her hands on my waistline. “You know, you have an amazing body, amazing career, why waste it on a girl like Ariel?” She spoke directly into my ear.  I pulled her hands from my waist and reversed our positions, and picked her up and pinned her against the dresser. “Look umm… What's your name? Doesn’t matter... I’m single, I do what I want and that includes who I want. If I want to do you and all of your friends I could. As for Ariel if you’re looking to be her replacement the position is unavailable.” I stared deeply into her brown eyes and she stared back at me. Her reaction was fear at first but soon turned into a game of seduction full of lust.  “No, I’m not looking for commitment either. As for my friends, you probably could. I wouldn’t mind and they wouldn’t either, even if it was at the same time. I'm still curious about you. I can’t help it. Seems like no one can. I mean have you seen yourself. There aren’t a lot of girls or boys like you.” She shrugged. “However if you ever want to do this again. I’ll leave my number with the front desk.” She pushed me off of her and I let go at the same time. “Samara…Samara Holiday was my name. See you around hopefully Logan.” She turned and looked back at me while she was getting dressed. “Those eyes are captivating and see why she wouldn’t let you go. You’re a beauty. See you around.” She then went and got dressed and left.  As soon as the girl from last night was gone I walked into my closet to pickout a suit to wear for my meetings. “No more one night stands.” I mumbled to myself.
