Nightmares
Selene Pov:
The smell of burning wood fills the air, flames surrounding trees, crackling sounds of bones and screams echo through the mountains. "Selene Run!" I woke up panting my body shaking covered in sweat. "nightmares again?" Ani spoke looking at me with her soft, light brown eyes. I stared at her for awhile wondering what I should say until I rudely blurted out "what does it look like, huh?" getting up from bed I grab my backpack and head towards the door, taking in a deep breath before heading out "I'm sorry". I heard her chuckle "I know, now go you look like s**t". I couldn't help but smile as I walk out the door heading over to the local gym to finally take a shower, being a rogue sucks but it's all I have ever known and if it wasn't for Ani's father I would of died years ago in a fire set by one of the packs to burn out rogues since that day I made a blood vow to protect Ani no matter the cost and I've kept my promise since. "todays the day" I softly spoke as I look into the mirror staring at my reflection "please be okay".
"Oh My God!" Ani squeals dragging me behind her mumbling and pointing at everything she could see as she drags us towards The Academy of Kora "it's finally happening, I can't believe it". I noticed a few glares our way, but this wasn't because of Ani being over the top it's because they can smell I am a rogue and so far the only one who bothered coming here. I don't blame other rogues for not coming because who would? you surrounded by atleast thirty different packs and their pack members are here for the big leagues. Ani suddenly stopped, as I face her I can see the shocked expression on her face and her wolf was peeping through her eyes, "mate". I looked towards the direction she was looking and saw a well-built man with dark brown hair and green eyes staring back at her with a soft smile and soon after resumes his conversation with a much older man Infront of him. "I need to speak to him" she quickly says. Grabbing her arm I can see she's angry "why?". I looked into her eyes seeing her wolf wanting to rip me into pieces. "not yet, let him come to you" I strongly voiced out showing my authority over her wolf. Soon I felt her relax and can tell her wolf retreated she faced me looking apologetic "I'm sorry I forgot". My heart sank I knew she wanted this moment for years, but all she-wolves know to never approach our mates first. This is a tradition if you meet your mate, he must approach you first this is to show his sincerity and that he accepts you as his mate, wanting your approval, if he doesn't seek you out than you are simply rejected, its more embarrassing for she-wolfs to be rejected which is why it's a tradition amongst rogues and a few packs that the male should approach first.
