Chapter 2

EMILY POV:   This has to be one of the worst and longest nights of my lifetime, even with over thousands of twists and turns I was not able to sleep. The sound of their moans is piercing through my heart. I know I should have been used to it as it’s been almost ten years since I’m seeing him with other girls, pleasuring them.    I was 7 when Ian came into my life, yup ‘Ian’, some people prefer Chris or Christian but I prefer Ian, short and sweet Ian. The first time we met is imprinted in my mind as clear as day.   Flashback: “ Hey Milli, you are still in the garden and I’ve searched the whole palace for you” Uncle Alex, Ian’s father and my bodyguard c*m best  friend said. “Oh Unky Alex thank god you came, see I can’t catch this butterfly” I said and then started to cry. “Hey don’t cry baby, I’ll get that for you” he said and started to console me. When I was crying on his shoulder, I saw the most beautiful boy staring at me with amusement. As soon as our eyes met his expressions changed dramatically. I don’t know why but I saw hatred flash in his eyes for a second or two then his expression went blank. “ Uncle, who’s he and why is he looking at me like that?” I asked Uncle Alex in a mere whisper. “Sorry princess I didn’t introduce you two” he said, “Chris, please come here” he added while looking at the boy. The boy started walking with an annoyed expression on his face and stood at a feet distance from us. “Milli, meet Christian, my oldest son and Chris, this is Emily, the princess of Reighton and my best friend” he added with a wink in my direction.  “Hi, Chris” I said meekly while looking in his eyes. He had the most beautiful jade coloured eyes with a hint of brown in it. I was so mesmerised by his eyes that I didn’t noticed the looks he passed me. He was so annoyed and I didn’t know why because I was sure I didn’t met him before. “Hello, Emily and it’s Christian for you” he said in the coldest tone I’ve ever heard. “This is the girl for whom you left us right, Dad?” he looked towards Uncle Alex and asked. I didn’t know what he was talking about and  certainly I didn’t wanted to know because of his cold expressions. “Chris, don’t talk like this in front of Milli” said uncle Alex, “And how many times I’ll have to make you understand that we need this job, and certainly I can’t leave Milli alone when it’s not been more than a month since her parents died. It’s not safe for her” he added. Hearing about my parents brought tears in my eyes and I hugged Uncle Alex’s stomach and started to cry. “You think someone will harm this crybaby? It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard Dad” he said and started laughing.  “Shut up Chris, and go to your room, NOW.” said Uncle Alex then he picked me up while trying to console me and walking towards the palace. While I was crying I looked towards Christian and saw him walking towards the other side.   Flashback ends.   I woke up and looked towards the big clock which was hanging at the wall in front of me. It’s just been two hours since I slept but certainly I can’t sleep till noon like normal girls can do. Nothing in my life is normal, with that thought I walked towards the bathroom in order to take the long awaited hot shower.   •••• After my long awaited hot shower I draped a towel around me and walked out of the bathroom.    Oh goodness.   I heard someone say, and instantly my eyes fell on the greek god standing inside my bedroom. I clutched my towel and tried to run back into the bathroom, that certainly was one of the stupidest thing I ever did. As I was going backwards my feet slipped, my heart started beating faster and with my eyes closed I waited to land on the ground on my butt with a thud. But that didn’t happen, instead two warm and large hands held me before I could fall on the ground.  Slowly I opened my eyes and saw Ian looking at me with an unreadable expression on his face. I blushed when I saw our proximity, and I’m damn sure I’m looking like a distant cousin of tomatoes. Once he made me stand on my own feet, he turned around embarrassed and said, “Sorry Princess, I waited for quite some time at your door for you to open it but when you didn’t, I thought you’re in trouble that’s why I barged through the balcony. I’m sorry I should’ve waited, this won’t happen again. Sorry” with this he started walking towards the balcony.   “Christian,” I said. He stopped at his track and slightly tilted his head towards me,  “You can use the door to go out, you know” I added then turned around and walked inside my walk-in closet.    Once inside, I put my right hand on my heart in order to calm it down and saw myself in the mirror, certainly I’m looking like a cousin of tomatoes, and not even distant. I heard my door being unlock and I was sure he was standing at the door so I got ready as fast as I can. I looked at myself through the mirror, I was wearing a white sheer shirt with  sphagetti strap top underneath, a blue boot cut jeans which I styled with a gucci belt, and hoops. What? You don’t think princesses wear gowns inside palace, do you? Nope, not happening. As for make-up, I went for a mascara to pop my baby blue eyes and used a little bit of lip gloss for that shiny plumpy lips.  Perfect. Once satisfied, I went outside my bedroom, and as expected, he was standing near the door with his oh-so-straight posture. I looked at him and hoped I wasn’t drooling, then said, “Let’s get started.”
