Coincidence
Mumbai
Mumbai, the city where everyone comes carrying their dreams—some to study, some to fulfill their family’s dreams. Everyone brings their own struggles, but no one knows when or what might happen to whom. Only a few people manage to see their dreams come true.
It’s a city often called the city of pollution, yet big events and accidents keep happening here. No one knows when or where disaster might strike.
A boy was walking with earphones in his ears, a backpack tightly strapped on, and sunglasses covering his eyes, completely lost in his own world. It seemed as if he had no interest in this world at all.
As he walked, his eyes suddenly fell on something ahead. He turned to look the other way, and his eyes widened in shock.
Quickly, he threw off his backpack and ran forward, leaping in front of a car to catch a dog, rolling aside just in time—but the car didn’t stop.
While he was still watching the dog, a loud noise exploded in his ears. His eyes widened even more as he turned back to see the car he had just dodged, now crashing against the bridge and about to fall into the river.
The boy left the dog where it was and ran toward the car. And that’s when his eyes widened even further…
There was a girl driving the car, blood streaming from her head from a heavy impact. The boy, seeing her blood, froze at the strange expression on her face. Before he could say anything, the car shook violently and began slipping toward the river.
Hearing the sound, the boy quickly gathered his wits and, with all his strength, leaned the car slightly to the side and tried to open the door.
After a few tense moments, his body drenched in sweat, he finally pulled her out with a jerk, and they fell onto the road. The car plunged into the river, and the boy let out a deep sigh of relief, laying his head on the road as he caught his breath. He looked at the girl’s face.
Before he could say anything, 10–15 men dressed in black, carrying guns, surrounded him.
The boy raised his hands in fear.
“Look, I haven’t done anything! I saved this lady’s life. She was driving the car unconscious, and it could have been a huge accident—but I stopped it,” he said innocently and quickly.
Hearing his innocent words, the bodyguards looked at him, scanning him from head to toe with strange expressions.
Just as they were about to say something, a boy of the same age approached. The bodyguards stepped aside. The boy quickly assessed the situation and lifted the girl into his arms.
“Give him his reward, and make sure the gift is special, because our madam’s life is priceless,” he said, placing the girl in the car.
The boy who had saved her tried to see her face, but it was completely covered.
“What are you staring at? Do you even know whose life you just saved?” one of the guards said, placing a hand on his shoulder and turning him around.
Confused, the boy shook his head while looking at them.
The guards exchanged glances and shook their heads in approval.
“Good thing madam was unconscious—you survived. Here, take your reward,” one of the guards said, handing him a box.
He glanced at the box, opened it, and saw bundles of cash. His fist clenched tightly, but he quickly composed himself and called out to the guard. The guard turned to look at him.
“Use this to get medical treatment for madam. If there’s any extra, donate it to an orphanage. And tell her, not everything has a price. If it does, I saved her life—so what would she put as a value on her own life?” he said, handing the box back to the guard and walking away.
The guards gave him one last glance and left.
The boy picked up his backpack and was about to leave when something shiny caught his eye. He walked closer and saw it was a diamond bracelet. He glanced around and tucked the bracelet into his pocket.
College
“Man, I’m so late today. Don’t know what the principal will say,” he muttered. Someone is always ready to scold you, and today is no different.
“Well, at least I did something good today,” he said to Kevin as they reached the college.
As he was putting away his purse, a peon knocked on the door.
“Yes, coming,” he replied. The peon entered.
“Good morning, sir. Big sir is calling you,” said the peon.
The boy nodded, and the peon left.
That’s it for today. See you in the next part. Till then… ba byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
