Chapter Thirty-Two The Planning Taking control is not always the answer. Mavis was told on the phone where and when her mother’s funeral would take place. She was told in my kitchen while I was whipping up an omelette for us both. I tried not to listen but couldn’t help myself. We had spent the day with the Bag Lady and Betty. The Bag Lady began talking about fish for tea, which I couldn’t face while Betty suggested crisps, which after a few wines led to more crisps and indigestion.
