Chapter 2

“Wake up sleepy head, we're gonna be late for work” Evelyn taps Emily, “Just a few more minutes” Emily stretches, “Do you know what the time says? So it's better for you to stand up” Evelyn replies and walks away “I'm off for work, I can't wait for you” Evelyn added as she stood by the door pretending to leave, “I'm up, don't go anywhere please” Emily jumps up from her bed and went straight to the bathroom, she finished preparing and they head for work as they were on their way they had an encounter with a woman whom they don't know her before, “Watch your steps woman” she said “I'm sorry but I didn't hit you” Evelyn replied,the woman came back “Yes, you're the one I'm looking for, stay away from what's mine or else you won't like the outcome and moreover I'm Seraphine” she said as she hits her and walked away, Emily and Evelyn looking confused and trying to digest what just happened “I'll have to teach that woman a lesson” Emily said but as she was about to leave Evelyn pulled her back “Just calm down, after work I'll call Desmond to ask him because I myself I'm lost” she said as Emily came back and they both went to work.

After the days work they head home and Evelyn said to Emily “we're actually going out, I'll just ask him when he comes to pick me up” but Emily didn't agree “Maybe it's just one of his employees and she's just jealous let it be, don't take it to heart Ok” as they got home they both relaxed for a while and Evelyn stood up to get ready as she wore her dress admiring it, she heard Desmond's horn outside “Hurry, you don't want to keep the gentleman waiting” Emily said as she hastened Evelyn “Don't rush me, he'll have to wait don't you know you can't rush beauty” Evelyn replied and she laughed after 15 mins of Desmond waiting for her, she finally came out and as he steps out of his car adoring Evelyn “Wow, you're beautiful, gorgeous infact words can't describe your beauty” He said as he walked towards Evelyn, all she did was just smile “Can we go now” Evelyn said as she blushed, Desmond held her hand as they walked towards the car and opens the door for her to enter and he also did same then he drives off.

As they got to the venue Evelyn was shocked because she hasn't been to such a place before but she has heard of it “We're going to a gala, OMG I've never been to one and I've always wished to attend one, well it's only for rich and influential people” Evelyn said as she turns her head towards the window beside her, “Anyways we're here now” they both alighted and Desmond held Evelyn by the hand as they both walked inside, Desmond introduced her to most of the guest and they were all glad to see her as Desmond approach his parents they both looked at her with an irritating look but they changed when she looked at them “Mum, Dad, meet my gf”he said as he pulls Evelyn closer to himself, his parents just smirks and walked away “Did I do anything wrong, what happened their response were cold” Evelyn mood changed but Desmond comforts her “Maybe their just stressed, just let it be” as they turned Evelyn sighted Seraphine and she walks towards them “So, who do we have here” Seraphine said as she was towards them as everyone stares all she wanted to do was create a scene and that's what she was doing “I thought I told you earlier to stay away from what's mine” Seraphine pointed at Evelyn “Did I or I didn't warn you, now you'll face my wrath” she added “Enough woman, remember I'm here” He said as his eyes twitches, Evelyn feeling scared and steps back “what's going on” she felt cold chills running down her spines as she asked “Let's go” Desmond said to Evelyn as he drags her out of the venue but Seraphine had other plans she pulled her back as she was about to transform but Desmond pushed her to the wall and told her “Will you just stop this trash and we'll talk about it later or you'll see the other side if me” he said and his eyes twitches again.

By this time, Evelyn was extremely scared that she couldn't wait for him she had to leave and as Desmond turned his back he couldn't find Evelyn again, people told him that she has left sk he had to look for her on foot and with his powers it made it easy for him to find her, he had super senses and caught up with her, “Why didn't you just wait” he said as he walked behind her “Oh with what I saw right and who is she , she came to me this afternoon, I don't even know her before what's going on” Desmond stood in front of Evelyn “Let's just forget about all that happened tonight, when the right time comes you'll understand” but Evelyn didn't agree “Really, I want an explanation now and not later” Desmond didn't know what to say but he had to say something and with lots of thinking he got the right thing to say “She's someone my parents want me to get married to” Desmond replied and looked down “so that's why your parents reply was cold, now I understand, your eyes twitched when you were talking to her what does that mean”, “it does when I'm angry” he replied immediately, now she understood everything and they hugged. “Can you wait so I'll get my ride” he asked “don't bother I'll take a cab”she said, Desmond stops a cab and Evelyn blowed him a kiss and said goodbye.
