Where am I?
Ava’s POV
I woke up groggily, my head pounding slowly, mouth dry as a desert and with a feeling in the pit of my stomach that something wasn’t right, but I just couldn’t place what exactly it was. The bed beneath me feels strange, too soft and too warm compared to my own, and the sheets were a tangled mess around me. As my vision clears, and I slowly take in my surroundings, I realize with growing alarm that this is not my bedroom. My heart begins to pound heavily in my chest and my headache takes a turn for the worse. I turned my head as slowly as I could to my left and there was a man beside me, a man I couldn’t for the life of me recognize. His face is partially hidden, but I can see enough to note that he is undeniably good-looking. His arm is draped loosely across my waist, and his head is nestled against my neck, breathing steadily and deeply. The intimacy of his position sends a fresh wave of panic through me.
Desperately, I flung his arm away, my movements clumsy and frantic, fear running through my veins. I scramble to sit up, my mind reeling as I notice that I am stark naked. My clothes are nowhere to be found, and I can barely breathe as I frantically search for my clothes, my fingers grabbing the disheveled blanket, wrapping it around her chest in a pointless attempt to cover myself. As I hastily glanced back at the man to make sure I hadn’t woken him up, I caught a clearer view of his face. Although he is strikingly handsome, there’s no recognition, no recollection of how I might have met him. My mind is a blank slate, struggling to piece together any memories of the previous night.
The more I try to remember, the more elusive the details become. How did I end up here? Why can’t I recall a single thing about the night that led to that moment? Deciding that I couldn’t think clearly until I was out of this room, I found my gown on the floor, and my underwear beside it. Fortunately, I threw it on as fast as possible. I couldn’t wear my shoes now, so I just gathered them in my hand, I flung my bag that was strewn across the floor on my shoulders, after making sure all my items were still there, tiptoed as quietly as I could out of the room, flew down the staircase and hailed a cab as soon as I got outside, luckily I found one immediately. On getting home, I immediately went to take a shower. When I was done, I went downstairs to make myself a cup of coffee, and it was while I had the mug in my hand and my body was not in a fight or flight mode that I finally remembered who the stranger I woke up next to was.
Emma set me up with one of her friends from work who she said had a crush on me but was too shy to come talk to me himself, so he collected my number, and we started talking. We set up a date for last night at a bar just close to my apartment. I got there only for me to start waiting for an hour with no word from him. I sent him various texts and none of them replied. I was already boiling with anger when this fine came up to me a piece of eye candy looking sharp in a turtle-neck shirt, tailored trousers and dress shoes. He looked like he had come here straight from work, offered to buy me another round of whatever I was having, and I agreed because who turns down a free drink?. He introduced himself as Alexander, said he was here winding down after a hard day’s work with a few friends. We started talking, and it was by far the best conversation I’ve ever had. He asked if I’d like to go back to his place and, for the first time in my entire existence, I agreed. We head out of the bar, just at the same time as my date walks in. I look at him eyeball to eyeball and the shock he has on his face at seeing me leave the bar with another man gives me great satisfaction. I smirk a little and hop into this new, handsome man’s car and we drive off. 10 minutes and a conversation full of laughter and charm later, we arrive at his house. I tried my best not to gape, but it was hard not to because the house was truly majestic. He leads me up a flight of stairs to his bedroom, and we get straight down to business. Kissing and touching, it was all I could do to not tear his clothes off his body. My shoes were flung to places I didn’t care to know, my underwear ripped off my body, thankfully, the dress I was wearing wasn’t complicated, it was off within seconds, we found our way to his bed, and we paused long enough for him to get protection and put it on and soon enough, he was inside of me, thrusting deeper and deeper, and I got louder and louder until we both climaxed, breathing raggedly. Sleep found us after we had had another round in the bathroom and taken a shower afterward.
