Chapter 1 : Farewell party

I got up at 7 in the morning at the sound of my alarm. To be more specific I got out of my bed after hearing my alarm otherwise I couldn't sleep the whole night. 

You must be thinking of the reason why I couldn't sleep. Hmm? 

So let me tell you that today I am going to be graduated from my college so there is a farewell party. I hope that I would pass with flying colors and soon get a job. 

After getting out of bed I went to the bathroom to freshen up. After my morning routine, I went downstairs to have breakfast with my parents.

 My father is an engineer and my mommy is a housewife. And after graduating I will be a computer engineer as I studied computer science engineering from one of the most famous colleges, i.e. ICE. I am a very simple living girl. I have only focused on my studies as I want to get a job soon.

" Good morning mum, good morning dad ", I greeted them as I got down the stairs. " Good morning my lovely child.", the father said while sipping from his hot tea and reading the newspaper. I observe that he is already dressed in a blue coat with matching pants. 'Is he going somewhere? Will he not come with me to my college party? ', I thought.

"Good morning my Rossy girl. Here is your breakfast, have it and get ready for your farewell party. ", mother said emerging from the kitchen with one plate filled with pancakes and maple syrup and another plate filled with the sandwich. I notice that she is also wearing a dress. Her appearance tells me that she is also going out.

Now my curiosity is at its peak. Are they going somewhere else or are they coming to my college? and if they are coming to my college then is it not too early? It is only 7:30 and they are all ready, and just look at me who is all excited isn't ready at all. Well, this shows that they are even more excited than me. Lol!

" Mum are you two going somewhere? ", I asked as I can't hold back my curiosity. Now what I heard was just a loud sound of laughter from my parents. " Yes dear, we are going out. We both are coming to your college to attend the party with you. ", my mother told me. " Yes dear, we both want to see you graduate with good marks. So we both are coming. ", father said with a bright smile. " But it's just 7:30. ".

" We know. We got up early so we got ready. we had nothing to do. ".

"Oh ! ", that was all I could say. After that, I ate my breakfast and went to my room to get ready.

Right now I am wearing my wine-colored gown along with my black stilettos and my long black hair in waterfall braids hairstyle. 

'Done. Now let's go', I thought. I picked up my hand purse and my mobile. 

Just then my mobile rang, the called Id showed my best friend's name. "Hello, are you ready or not? what are you wearing? don't tell me that you are simple otherwise, I am gonna break our friendship. Speak. Why are you not saying anything? ", she barked at me. 

"Just calm down Priyanka. If you are going to continue like this, then how am supposed to speak. ", I said politely.

" Yes I am ready and I am not going to tell you what I am wearing. So when you see me then tell me how is it. We are leaving now. So BYE. ", I simply told her and disconnected the call. I reached downstairs and took both of my parent's hands and said "Mum, Dad let's get going. ". We left the apartment. After 20 minutes we reached the college.

Just as we entered the college, I was suddenly engulfed in a tight hug by my bestie. "Jeez, you are looking too good. I thought that you are going to get dressed in a jeans and top as usual. But today you are looking breathtaking. ", my friend screamed while hugging me in a bone-crushing hug. 

" Ooh thank you. You are also looking very nice as usual. Now leave me I can't breathe. ", I told her almost breathless, and eye her from up to down. She is wearing a blue floral dress which is complementing her white skin with beige-colored sandals and her light brown hairs are tied up in a ponytail. She is looking stunning.

"Oh yeah. And I almost forgot that the result announcement is going to start in just five minutes. And we should reach there. Hurry up. ", she told me and dragged me to the open-air theater area. Everyone is gathered there, and the host is standing on the podium with a mic in his hand creating suspense for the final result. 'everything will be fine. Everything will be fine ', I kept saying while crisscrossing my fingers.

"And now the most awaited position is 1st position. So who is going to be the topper of this year's batch? Let us see ....", the host said with suspense creating voice and I closed my eyes. 

"And the topper is Miss Rose Green. ", the host said and I opened my eyes shocked by this news. "I would like to request Miss Rose Green to show her presence on the stage and receive her graduation certificate and a special gift from our honored chief guest. ", he said in his enthusiastic voice. "Go Rose go ", Priyanka pushed me towards the stage.

I ran and reached the place beside the chief guest to take my special gift and graduation certificate meanwhile the host kept announcing my achievements to the crowd. From the stage, I can see my parents and their eyes are shining with tears and I know they are cheerful. 

Taking my certificate I came down the stage and walking through the crowd I reached the spot where my parents are standing. 

"We are so proud of you my girl. I always knew that you are going to take our family reputation to a higher level. ", both mom and dad said. "Oh, mum dad whatever I am today is just because of you two. Both of you have helped me become such a good girl and achieve all this. So the award should go to you two.", I told them with my utmost sincerity. 

" So today I am going to give you a treat and you, my dear friend you are also invited. okay ? ", I said while pointing towards Priyanka who is smiling from ear to ear. "Yeah girl sure I will be there. ", she said while hugging me.

"Now the second position is occupied by Miss Priyanka. I would like to request this lovely lady who is also responsible for breaking the bones of most of the boys in this college, basically bad boys. She is black belt and she can't stand bad behavior. So dear come here and have your certificate and your special gift. ", the host announced and Priyanka ran up the stage all excited and happy

Now we all are sitting in a restaurant. The waiter has given us our food. In no time we started to dig in and enjoy our food. We all are laughing and enjoying ourselves. "Rose have you applied to any company before this? ", dad asked. 

" Yeah dad I have applied to some companies. ", I told him. I continued, "Um I guess their result should be out in one or two days. Priyanka has also applied in those companies. We both are waiting for the results. ". 

" If we both get selected at the same company then we are going to make everyone crazy there. ", Priyanka said laughing. Hearing her comment we all burst out in laughter.

Soon we finished our dinner followed by a dessert which was my favorite dessert. After dessert, we all headed back to our respective homes. Reaching home, I went into my bedroom, changed into my comfortable clothes, and laid down on the bed.

As soon as I pulled the comforter, my heavy eyelids closed and I went to deep slumber. I was floating in a dreamland where a handsome man came riding a horse and kissed me. 

Oh! What a dream!!
