Chapter 2 : A GOOD NEWS

"Rose open the door . Open the door . ".
I heard a yelling sound and banging at my door. My eyes opened slowly and I walked towards the door, yawning.
"Coming. Coming. wait ", I said sleepily. As soon as I opened the door Priyanka jumped on me.
"Um...what happened ?", I asked breathless and confused. "Did you see what is in your special gift pack? Did you open it up? ", she asked.
"No, I didn't open it. You have come just to see that gift.", I said yawning while feeling lazy and laying down on my bed.
"No. I haven't come here just to see a gift. First, go and open it then you'll know everything. Be quick. ", she ordered me.
"Mm, I think that you have already opened your gift. And it seems to be a very special gift. What have you got? ", I asked curiously.
Yesterday the college party got over around 8. After that, we directly went to our dinner party thrown by me. So, I didn't get time to even think about that gift. And now when my best friend has come to my house early in the morning and talking about the gift then it must be 'very special '. Now I want to know what is inside it.
"I won't tell you about it until you open your's and check it. So now open it ", she said with a stern look bringing me out of my thoughts. My curiosity took a toll on me and I said "Let me bring mine. ", and I ran towards my table.
Opening my drawer I pulled out my gift, I ran back to my bed and sat on it. "Now let us see what is inside. ", I said in excitement.
The gift is a small rectangular box covered with blue gift wrapping paper. A golden color lace is forming the outline of the box and a flower knot is tied with the lace on the top of the box. I slowly untied the knot and removed the lace. Tearing off the wrapping paper it revealed a velvet texture box. I unlocked it and found an envelope, its backside facing upwards. I picked it up and turned it over to see the sender's address. As I read the address my eyes widened as if they are about to pop out.

"OH. MY. GOD.", I gasped in happiness. "Now open it fast. You are holding me on edge ", Priyanka squeaked while jumping up and down due to excitement. I tore the outer paper to bring the inner letter out. I slipped my fingers inside and started to read it.

Dear Ms. Rose Green,
I am writing this letter to inform you that your name is selected for the position of Software Development Director. According to your curriculum vitae and application for this post, you meet our desired criteria, which we are searching for the post. Your skills and qualifications drive me to write this request letter for the interview process, which will be conducted on September 12, 2020, Saturday at Ryder's enterprises, Head Office, Mumbai. The timings are 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. sharp.
With respect to your application, we decided to give you a chance to prove your practical knowledge. You are requested to wear formal on that day. I wish you the best of luck in your future.

" WOW. That's called good morning. Such a piece of good news that we have been longing for.", I said jumping up and down on my bed. " But Oh s**t. They said September 12 and it is today. " suddenly I got the main point.
She is here because they said that the interview is today. I slowly sat down on my bed while looking at her face which has an expression of happiness, excitement, and a little bit of worry. Happiness as we have been selected and this is one of the high points in our lives, excitement for our future if we pass the interview and a little bit of worry because their head office is far away from where we live.
" So this is the actual reason why you are here. ", I said concluding the whole situation. "Yes dear, it is just not the letter but the date of the interview that has brought me here. So get your lazy ass out of your bed and get ready for the interview. And according to the time, it shows us that we only have 90 minutes to get ready, eat breakfast and leave. ", she said and turned around.
" But are you going back to your house? then you must know my friend that if you do so then we will be late ", I said while crossing my arms over my chest, feeling somehow proud of myself. Just then a peal of evil laughter left her lips and I know that she must be smirking right now.
She walked towards the door and picked up her bag that she might have dropped before knocking on the door. I see her settling her bag on the bed and pulling out her light blue shirt and a formal pant and a black blazer. "Will you please stop watching me and get ready fast? I don't want to be late and if ...", her voice had a serious tone as she spat out these words. And before she could complete her sentence I interrupted her, " okay okay calm down I am going. see I am gone. ", I said while disappearing into my bathroom.
After 15 minutes I came out of my bathroom and went inside my walk-in closet. I chose my dark blue color formal shirt paired it with my black formal pant and a black blazer. Then I tied my waist-length black hair in a ponytail. Looking myself completely dressed I turned and grabbed my black formal shoes, and came out.
When I came out I saw Priyanka sitting on the bed while working on her laptop. She lifted her head when I approached her and said, " I have booked a taxi and it will take us directly to the head office. "
" Now let me get ready " she continued and stands up and disappears into the bathroom. I sit down in bed and decide to check my mobile to see if there is any new message or something. I don't find anything interesting after 10 minutes so I just walk down the stairs to see what mom has made today.
"Good morning mum. What have you made today? It smells really good. ", I can smell that she has made something delicious.
"Good morning my child. I have made a bacon egg and cheese sandwich which is your favorite. And cinnamon roll and egg sandwich for Priyanka as they are her favorite. Plus there is an almond milk smoothie for both of you. Do you like it? ", she tells me while pointing out each dish.
"Of course mom I like it. You already know that I love everything that you make. And this all is just wonderful. I love you mom. ", I tell her while hugging her and kissed her cheek. In the meanwhile, Priyanka came down.
" Come on girls have your breakfast ", mum said to us.
" Aunt Bella let us help you set the table. ". we all sat down and soon we started to eat. " How you two will be going? I mean have you booked a cab or should I do that. ", mum asked chewing her sandwich.
I was about to tell her but before I could say anything Priyanka said, " Don't worry auntie I have booked a cab and it will leave us directly there. It should come in 20 minutes."
After that, we ate our food without even saying a word.
"Rose are you ready? The taxi is coming in 5 minutes. " Priyanka said coming down the stairs holding a bag that has her documents. "Yes I am done.", I answered.
"You can put your file in this too if you want. ", she suggested.
" Okay.", I answered.
I put my doc file in her bag and turn towards my mom and said, " Bye mom. Pray for us so that we get selected. "
" You two will be selected for sure as there can not be any candidate better than you. ", she says lighting the situation. Priyanka and I chuckled at her statement. The taxi arrived and we both took our seats.
" All the best Girls. ", mum beamed wishes us. "Thanks, mum "
" Thanks, auntie. Bye. ", we both replied.

Unknown's POV :
" Have you sent the interview letter to her? ", I asked looking out of the window.
"Yes sure. Today is her interview. What should we do? ", the man behind me answered.
"You know what you have to do. ", I tell him smirking.
" Let's see what she is playing now. A NEW GAME? HUH? I'll play your game in my style Anna. ", I said this more to myself with a smirk on my face.
