Chapter 5 : Plan

Leonardo's POV :

" My boy, how are you ? ", came the sweet voice of my mother. She looks quite young and she is wearing a peach color knee-length halter dress. She is standing bare feet in the garden outside our house. And I am also looking like a small boy around 10, wearing a light brown shirt paired with dark blue jeans. She is cupping my face in her hands and is looking directly into my eyes. " I am good, mommy. See I have won my match and a medal as well. I got all this because you taught me well. Thank you, mommy. You are the best mommy in this world. I love you mommy . ", I told her showing my medal and a certificate, jumping up and down. 

" That is great, son. Mommy loves you too. And since you have won a match, then I ought to give you a surprise as well ", she took my hand and started to walk inside the house. 

Just then when she was about to reveal the surprise my phone rang and I woke up from sleep. 

"Ah! That was such a nice dream . ", I groaned. 

 So today I am going to get a surprise, I thought because whenever I have a dream like this that means that I must expect a surprise. The last time when I had the same dream on the eve of my birthday, I got a white Aston Martin Vanquish from my parents. So that means that I should expect a surprise. 

The phone rang again drawing my attention and I picked it up from the table. The caller ID shows that it is from Mrs. Fitzgerald.

I swipe the green button on the screen and put my phone on my ear while laying down on the bed lazily. 

" Good morning Mrs. Fitzgerald. " 

"Good morning Leo. Are you in the hotel? ", she asked in her motherly voice. 

"Yes, I was sleeping . ", I told her.

" Do you want to sleep anymore? " 

" No I guess I won't be able to sleep anymore . ", I sat up straight and continued, " You wanted me to do some work what is it? ", I asked her recalling that she has asked me a favor to help her accomplish a task.

"Yeah. I want you to interview a girl for the post of Principal Software Engineer for our company. So come by 12 and I will send her to your office. If it is okay then you can appoint her. ", she told me.

"Okay, I will interview her. Is she experienced or a fresher? Then I will interview her in that way . ", I got up from the bed and went to the balcony. 

"She is a fresher and has recently graduated. " . " so take care of that matter. Okay ? ".

"Okay, I will take care of that. Bye, Mrs. Fitzgerald ".

"Bye, dear. " Then we hung up the call

She is a sweet lady and is like my second mother because she takes good care of me and my friend Jackson or Jack that is what I call him. She is one of the most trustworthy employees in the company and is like our family member. Jack and I are childhood friends and our parents were also friends. Jack and my parents were businessmen, so that also enhanced their friendship. We two have grown up together and we are inseparable. It doesn't matter what happens between us, we are always together. Either it is to solve a problem or create one. Just a year back we decided to merge our companies to enhance the output. Ever since the success has been rising exponentially. He is the CEO and I am CFO only by position. We can handle each other's work effortlessly. Our company has a branch in many other countries as well. So that means that we have to travel a lot to handle the work. That's why I am here in India, for approx two days, to inspect the workplace. Mrs. Fitzgerald is our HR Head as well as Manager in India. Today I have a meeting with her.  

  Jacky is the true definition of a gentleman while I am a little bit opposite. You can say that I am also a gentleman but when it comes to hurting my loved ones I can make their lives a living hell. I am a bit ruthless while he is soft.

 But recently his heart was left broken on the day of his wedding and that too by his lover Anna. You must be thinking that why didn't I make her life hell and that's because she is a cunning lady and she has become a dark figure. She has been hiding out from the world. No one knows where she is but she is playing a game. Just because of that lady my friend has become ruthless. He doesn't care for anyone at all. He has become unpredictable. Sometimes I feel as if I have lost that friend who was so caring, loving, helpful, and grateful. Now he has become the one who derives pleasure from other's pain and I don't like that. I will go to every extent to bring him back into his former form. And I am on a mission to bring him back. 

After my morning routine, I went to the hotel gym to do some workout, so that I can maintain my perfectly sculptured 6'1 tall body. Returning after an hour I showered myself and got ready for the office. It was quarter past twelve when I got a call from Mrs. Fitzgerald letting me know that the candidate has arrived and will be in my office any minute. 

I was studying a file when I heard a knock on the door. The door opened slowly revealing the most beautiful lady in this world. Rachna had pushed her inside and she was surprised by this weird behavior. Me too but my prime focus is on the beauty in front of my eyes. Her slender body is covered in formal dress. And her light brown hair tied up in a pony. She is shorter than me, maybe around 5'5 or 5'6. 

If she is this gorgeous in formal dress then she is going to set everything on fire if she wears any other dress. I thought to myself. 

After a second she turned around and our eyes met. The whole world seems to stop at that very moment. She was looking like a goddess with her black eyes. I was admiring her beauty when she cleared her throat and brought me out of my dream world. I asked her to sit down. I wanted nothing but she should stay close to me so I can admire her all the time. Or maybe I can try my luck and make her my girlfriend. I asked her a few questions not to judge her but to hear her sweet voice.

I think I should give this job to her. Just when I was about to tell her to join, my phone rang. I frowned to see Mrs.Fitzgerald calling. I went outside to attend.

"Leo, come to my office. Now .", she said in a stern tone and disconnected the call. I ran inside the room and asked her to leave and that her result will be declared soon.

When I was exiting the elevator I collided with Anna and that was a surprise for me. My blood started to boil. But before I could take any action Mrs. Fitzgerald called again. I told her that I am talking to Anna but she replied that I need not do anything and she wants me to show my presence in her room so I went straight to her room without any delay.

"Mrs. Fitzgerald why didn't you let me take any action. You also know how much wicked she is. She is the one reason behind Jack's condition. She should be punished. Even she...", I roared in anger but she interrupted me.

"Leo, calm down. You are thinking that why I didn't do anything, why I let her go. But the reason is Jack. ", she said rising from her chair and stood in front of me.

"Jack? How? Is he aware of all this? Don't tell me he knows where this devious lady is? "

"Leo, Jack knows she is in India. And he also knows that she has applied for Software Development Director. He thinks she is playing a game so he wants to play the game in her way and he wants to take revenge dramatically in the last . ", she says sipping her coffee. " He has asked me to persuade her to join the company in America. And I hope she will do as desired . ", she continued.

"Don't you think that she knows that this is his company? Why would she that ? ", I asked her stating facts.

"Jackson has overtaken his parent's company is not officially declared, as you know. And he never told her that as well, because he wanted to surprise her after the wedding. But the wedding was called off, so clearly she does not know this yet. As Jackson is a very busy person so he can't visit his parent's company, in her opinion. And since Jacky's parents have not seen her yet so they won't be able to recognize her even if they meet her. So she thinks it is easy to work under his nose without even knowing letting him know . ", she made me understand.

"Oh okay, that is logical. But why didn't he tell me about it ? ", I nodded my head.

"You also know that, don't you? You were busy for the whole month, weren't you ? ", she said shaking her head.

"Oh yeah. But .. ", I closed my mouth after earning a glare from her.

"Tell me what about that girl Priyanka you just interviewed ? Is she okay for the post ? ".

A wide grin made its way on my face just by the mention of her name.

"That was good. I guess we should hire her. Intelligent, smart, hardworking, ", I told her imagining her face "Beautiful as well ", I said to myself.

"Okay so mail her to join the company. But keep her in India. Jackson is assuming her to be Anna's partner. He has a plan for that as well, for that you need to help us. You will try to gain information from Priyanka keeping her here while Jackson will play his role there. We need to do their background checking as well, like where they live, what is their plan, who is helping them and all . ", she briefly told me part.

I took my leave and went to work on 'the plan'.
