Grizea wakes up as the sun sets, revealing a stunning twilight sky.
She groaned as she stretched her limbs, then turned around and drew Lil' Black into her arms. Grizea caressed Lil 'Black till he protested and tried to get away from her embrace. Make her lightly laugh and release Lil' Black from her embrace, allowing Lil' Black to escape.
Meow! Meow!
Lil' Black nudged his bowl with his nose before staring at Grizea with his big watery eyes.
Grizea knows what Lil 'Black wants. She gets up from the bed, stretches her body once more, and then moves towards the front door of her apartment. “I'm going to ask Mrs. Jane for some milk. I've run out of your milk. So, hold on a second, Lil' Black.”
Ever since there was Lil' Black, Grizea had a habit of talking to herself... No, she was interacting with her cat, who could only respond with a meow every time. But she didn't mind because Lil' Black made her life more enjoyable.
Grizea stepped towards her neighbor's door.
Jane Black, her next-door neighbor, is sixty years old and is enjoying a leisurely retirement in this apartment with several other retired people.
When Grizea first moved into her apartment unit, Jane always guided her around the small town and told her about the ins and outs of the city she was going to live in.
Jane Black was also the only person who raised several cats in her old age; if Grizea hadn't moved and discovered Lil' Black, Jane's pet cat would have increased by one.
“Grizea, sweetheart. How are you doing?” Jane opened her apartment door for Grizea and greeted her after she rang the doorbell a few times. “How's Lil' Black doing these days?”
“Lil' Black is getting better. Today he only needed to run one more check up.” Grizea beamed as she responded to Jane's question. “Is there any milk left for Lil' Black, Jane? I had run out of milk for him today and was about to go out and get some.”
“Of course.” Jane opened the door wide, letting Grizea follow her into her neat apartment filled with cat towers. “Please wait a moment, sweetheart.” Then she left Grizea alone and went to her pantry.
“En. There's no need to hurry, Jane.”
Grizea scanned the living room for Jane's pet cats, but couldn't find them. She then chose to sit in the middle of the living room on a fur rug, and it was only a matter of minutes until two purring cats approached her.
“Dear, This is the only brand I have. Do you still want this?” Jane returned with several cans of milk in her hands. “Everything is yours to keep. They are no longer interested in drinking this milk.” She then placed the four milk cans in a plastic bag and handed it to Grizea, who was still preoccupied with her cats.
“Yes, of course. Thank you so much, Jane. Later, I'll bring you something.”
Grizea rose from her seat after letting the cat on her lap move.
“No need to bother about that, dear. How are you doing? You've been here for a month, and the only time I've seen you out is when I dragged you across town.” Jane was holding a cat in her arms and letting Grizea gently caress it.
“I just finished cleaning up today and also finished my deadline last week, so yeah…”
“Tsk... Everyone here is concerned about you, and they have frequently asked me about you. You must attend our weekly meeting the following day. We'll make a hot pot together.”
“Hot pots? Should I bring something with me?”
“Ah...You only need to bring yourself. Everything has been arranged since yesterday. All you have to do now is show up.”
“Alright then. Thank you so much for the milk, Jane. See you tomorrow.”
Grizea let Jane give her a brief hug before heading back to her apartment.
Meow!
Lil' Black sat in the doorway, a melancholy expression on his face, he greeted Grizea as soon as the door opened.
“Lil' Black, be patient.” Grizea chuckled, kicked the flip-flops she was wearing and walked into her room barefoot.
Lil' Black followed Grizea's steps, who then sat patiently watching the girl pour a can of milk into his bowl.
Meow! Lil' Black circles Grizea's legs once, as a gesture of gratitude, before drinking his milk.
“Lil' Black, take it easy.” Grizea laughed with amusement at the cat's behavior.
Grizea then headed to the bathroom to take a shower after a day, half a day, tidying up the room.
Ten minutes later, Grizea came out of the bathroom drying her hair, dressed in a T-shirt and jeans.
Grizea is a simple girl. She dislikes dressing up for no apparent reason.
Her only cosmetics that she owns are face powder, lipstick, and eyeliner. Besides, she only leaves the house once a month, or once a week, for grocery shopping and a few meetings with her editor.
Lil' Black finished with his milk and then laid down on Grizea's bed, looking satisfied with his meal.
“Lil' Black. Come here.” Grizea put on her jacket, then slowly lifted Lil' Black into her arms inside the jacket.
That way, Grizea only needed to pick up her bag on the hook by the door and walk to the vet, which was only a few blocks away from her apartment.
Grizea enjoyed the sunset with a gentle breeze that blew the smell of the sea towards her.
Lil' Black's head poked out from underneath her jacket, completely motionless in Grizea's embrace.
When the vet clinic came into view, Grizea picked up her pace.
“Good evening, Miss Rose and Lil' Black.” When Grizea walked into the clinic, the receptionist behind the large table stood up.
“Good evening to you too.” Grizea returned the greetings.
“Have you learned about today's tests and vaccines from Doctor Vos?”
Grizea only responded with a nod when the receptionist asked questions.
“Doctor Vos was about to wrap up his conversation with his new assistant. I'm going to take Lil' Black to see Doctor Dos right away. You can wait in the waiting room. I'll return with a beverage for you.”
Grizea removed Lil' Black from inside her jacket and placed it on the receptionist desk.
Even though the black cat was simply sitting silently staring at her, the receptionist hurriedly took Lil' Black into her arms in case something bad happened to him. There was nothing wrong with being on guard.
It wasn't long before Grizea was sitting in the waiting room with the magazine in her lap, waiting, until her thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
“Is it possible that it's you?” A certain girl exclaimed, her face beaming with delight when she saw Grizea looking up at her.
“Savanna?”
