Jake
“Hey, you’re home early,” Jake said when Stephanie finally tracked him down at the main house.
He had seen her pull down the drive earlier and head towards his house. Not sure if she was looking to finish their fight, he had waited for her to find him.
“I quit,” she said, beaming with pleasure. He looked her over carefully. Stephanie was radiant. Her whole demeanor seemed to have changed. “Did you hear me?” she asked, poking him in the chest.
“Yeah, I’m just trying to figure out who you are and what happened to Stephanie,” he joked.
She slapped him playfully in the chest. Then he tugged her up against him. When he was just a breath away from kissing her, he stopped.
