“I just set fire to my house,” Stephanie said deadpan as she walked into Dave’s office.
“Stephanie?” Dave said startled.
He looked up from the file he had been studying. She had thought the world of Dave. He was hard to take for most people, but she had learned to deal with him. They had a comfortable relationship, until they didn’t. Jake had been hounding her to quit. She had wanted to, but she also knew she would need Dave’s help.
“I. Set. Fire. To. My. House,” she said, enunciating each word.
