He Is Strange

Jay sat alone on the a bench eating his sandwich and watching some boys playing soccer game. He enjoyed his mutton sandwich, the one Farrah made for him and packaged. He has enjoy all his classes so far and found everything to his liking. As Jay watched the boys enjoying their game, Cameron came to him. Cameron was the same height as Jay but more lanky with cropped brown hair and brown eyes. He called out to Jay sharply. "Hey, what's up man?" Cameron was now closer to Jay. Jay focus his attention straight forward. "Are you a loner?" Cameron asked squatting with a soccer ball. Jay turned and fixed him a hard glance. He didn't say anything. "Come on, Man. I'm speaking to you". "Yes, I'm a loner. Thanks for the offer but no, I'm not playing any game with you". Jay said bluntly. "Really, what's the fun if you don't play games in highschool?" "I didn't came here to have fun, now, if you will excuse me. I have somewhere to be. Play with yourself". Jay snapped and got up abruptly. He looked down at Cameron and sauntered away. Cameron could only stared at Jay and grit his teeth. **************** Ruby removed her head sweatband and walked out of the basketball court. She collide directly with Anastasia. Anastasia face contort into a vicious mask. "Ugh! can't you see". Anastasia snapped shortly. "Excuse me, it was a mistake". Ruby returned. "Really", Anastasia snarled sardonically. She tucked her a mass of her dirty blonde hair behind her ear. "I didn't know it was a mistake". Her voice was laden with sarcasm. Ruby choke back an insult and walked away while Anastasia laughed chuffed. Ruby gritted her teeth in frustration as she dug her fingers into her damp hair. She was seething with anger and was thankful having refrained herself. Anastasia was a self absorbed person who knew how to create problems for people. She was the captain of the other female basketball team and always get under Ruby skin. The two girls were never friends always at loggerheads. Ruby resolve to continue ignoring her as all of her insult were only skin deep and Anastasia always shoot her mouth off and cocky. School was over for the day and Jay kept his book safely in his locker and locked it up securely. He slung his backpack on his shoulder and walked out of the almost empty lockers room. He went out towards the car park where his bike has been kept, someone called out to him. "Excuse me, please wait a second!" That satiny, gentle and smoothing voice said. It was feminine, it was her. Jay stop and look back over his shoulder. He saw the same auburn hair girl running towards him carrying her big backpack and wearing a sky blue jacket with folded sleeves and a black crop top with black jeans, the buttons were folded and ordinary flip flops. Her auburn hair was bouncing as she has held it in a ponytail and the ringlet falling down to her shoulders. She reached him panting softly. "Hi", She greeted as she tried to get back her breath. "I'm Ruby Hayden, a student here in Kim Lance". She said softly with a cheerful smile that show the beautiful row of her pearly white teeth. Jay felt smitten as she spoke to him. Her bright vivid emerald eyes were sparkling and he love the feel of her silken voice, and her plump rosy cheeks. She seems so bright eyed, bushy tailed and springy. "Hey", Ruby said and halt. "Won't you tell me your name?" She continued haltingly, tongue in cheek. Ruby look at him under her lashes. He has a lean, athletic and sinewy body with firm, set jaw. Ruby found him intriguing and handsome with his robust body. He was half a feet taller than her and has ink-blue raven short hair with hazel eyes and blue flecks. He was holding a sketch pad, making her wonder if he draw. "My name is Jason Peyton, call me Jay". Jay said coolly. "Jay". Ruby called sotto voice and blinked. "Excuse me, if you don't mind. I'm going home". Jay said briskly and turned, he walked away smartly. "Hey, take care. See you around". She said but he pretended not to hear and didn't respond. Ruby looked at him and shook her head. "He is strange and kinda cold". Ruby breathe as she fold her arms around her chest. Someone placed a hand on her shoulder and startled her. She turned to see Drake smiling. "Drake, you frightened the living daylights out of me". She told him and her friend chucked. "I saw you standing so I had to check if everything is OK". Drake said casually. "Yeah, everything is peachy. How was your game?" Ruby asked. "It's tough, anyways let's go home. I'll drop you off at your house". "Thanks Drake", Ruby gave him a big smile. "You are welcome", Drake replied and clasp his hand over hers. They both walked to the car park. Drake and Ruby has been best friends since kindergarten and they were both good in sports especially, basketball as Drake was also the captain of his team. Their friendship was easy and fun because their mothers were also friends and this has kept both of them united as one. Ruby loved Drake as a friend but he loved her more than that and wish she could see through his feelings. Ruby was just too glad he had offer her a lift home. She was dog-tired and needed rest badly.
