EPISODE 1 The beginning with chaos...
A girl who always wants love, yet never truly receives it. A girl who does everything for others smile, only faces humiliation again, again and again. Now she has finally graduated. Today, she is heading to her first internship interview —ready to step into a new chapter of her life. The city of Seoul is already buzzing. The states are filled with rushing people car horns and open cafes. Morning sunlight is falling on the tall buildings of Seuol. The birds starts chirping, filling the morning air with melody. Dahyun, already late, rushes through her apartment. she glances at the clock—panic flashes across her face. She goes to Sumin's room, said loudly “Sumin! wakes up! see the sunlight has already come out”shaking Sumin's shoulder. Sumin pulls the blanket over her head and said “So...what do you want me to do photosynthesis?” Dahyun said seriously—“ Hahaha! so funny so now don't joke. You know that today's my interview in CrimsonCore technology company and I am already late.” Sumin yawns—“Oh! yeah, your interview, best of luck bestie.” Yeah “Besties”. They are truly inseparable. Dahyun is an orphan who lost her parents in an accident at a very young age. Now, she lives with her best friend, LEE SUMIN. They share an apartment, split the rent and divide the bills. Both care for each other deeply and always support one another. Sumin’s family—Lee family is cheerful and loving. They always understand, support and care for each other. Her family also lives in SEOUL, but quite far from their apartment. Her father,Lee Joon Ho, works as an Architect. Her mother, Lee Hye Rin, runs a flower shop. She has a little brother too named—Lee Ji Hoon, he is an university student and works part time just for fun and extra pocket money. When Dahyun first joined the school, everyone used to harass and bully her — everyone except Sumin. She was the first and only one who came to her with a simple but heartfelt request in Dahyun’s eyes that was — to be friends.... Dahyun is already at the door, holding her resume. She put on her shoes takes a deep breath, and runs out. On her way, she stops at a small cafe near the subway station and buys a coffee. Her only fuel for chaotic morning ahead. The warm smell of the coffee makes her feel calm for a moment, even though people and cars rushes past her. Outside the logo of CrimsomeCore Technology Company is glowing at the distance. A company that has risen to the top in just two years—a dream place for every tech graduate. It's CEO is a mystery. He rarely appears in public, and whenever he does, he always wears a black mask, hiding his face from the world. The world only know his name— Kang Seungmin. “In my eyes...”, Dahyun murmurs to herself as she hurries towards the building,“he’s a genius. He built Korea’s top company in just two years. If I can learn under him, maybe my life will finally change...” At the company's front gate , a black luxurious car pulls up. The door opens, and a man steps out. Dahyun who is in rush and tense, not noticing him, bumps straight into him... BOOM!! He falls back against his car, and Dahyun falls on the ground. Her resume scatters across the entrance way. Already in a hurry, she quickly gathers her papers. “Sorry!” she says breathlessly, then runs inside the company without even looking at his face or waiting for his reply. Outside the interview room, she sits in the waiting area, tense and nervously, holding her resume, and waiting for her turn. A man passing from there— his eyes narrow, like he knows her. He stops in front of her and says coldly,“You! coffee girl! Are you blind? Don't you have eyes? You messed up my coat.” Dahyun blinks not understand what he is trying to say, confused replies—“Who are you to talk to me like that?” He replies sharply—“The man you bumped into a while ago.” Realising who he is, Dahyun quickly stands, bows slightly, and says,“I’m really sorry... as I was in hurry so I didn't notice you. That was a mistake. And I'll pay for the dry cleaning of your coat.” The man's voice turns sharp—“Do you always walk around like this? Rushing, spilling coffee and bumping into people?” Dahyun blinks, then replies—“Excuse me? I said I am sorry, but that doesn't mean you can talk to me like that.” He raises an eyebrow and replies—“So now you are saying sorry. But sorry doesn't fix carelessness.” Dahyun takes a deep breath and says—“Tell me the price. I will pay for it.” The man replies—“It’s too expensive coffee girl! It's 300,000won.” Dahyun shocked after hearing the price just for dry cleaning, says—“What? 300,000won.” She quickly opens her purse, around 60,000won cash she had left from her last part-time shift. Her fingers tighten around it. She took out the 50,000won and says—“At this moment, I only have 60,000won. So please take 50,000won as I also want some cash until I get my salary. So for now take it. I will pay the rest later.” His sharp voice makes her more embarrass says—“50,000won? Do you think that's even enough to clean the sleeve, Coffee girl?” Embarrassed Dahyun, she tightens her grip on the money and says—“It’s what I have right now, I promise you I will pay the rest later.” He tilts his head, his gaze is cold and sharp says—“People like you always say that. Quick to promise, slow to take responsibility.” Dahyun’s patience flushes, now she filled with anger, says—“You think money is everything don't you? Not everyone walks around dressed in brands, it worths someone’s rent!” He raises an eyebrow, replies—“At least, I can afford mine. You poor fool!” Now her anger bursted, she steps forward and throws cash at his face. She says—“Keep your money and keep your who in your pocket because not everyone is free like you for argument.” Everyone in the waiting room stares, frozen. Dahyun stands still for a moment after throwing the money, trying to catch her breath. The waiting room feels heavy—eyes on her, whispers rising slowly. The man adjust his sleeve, completely calm like nothing happened, then turns to the cleaner standing nearby, says—“Clean this up. A fool just throw useless papers on the floor.” His tone carries arrogance as he looks at the scattered cash—not even worth bending down for. Just then the glass door opens, a man in a formal blue clothes steps out with a clipboard, says—“Miss Kim Dahyun, it's your turn.” Dahyun move towards the interview room and enters in. It's a bright, modern and silent room, the kind of silence that makes every heartbeat sound louder. There are three seats arranged behind the long glass table for the interviewers. The middle chair is empty for the CEO. On the left sits Mrs. Park, elegant and strict looking. On the right sits Mr. Min, a man in his late thirties, quiet but observant. Across from them is a single chair—the seat for the intern applicants. In one corner a chair placed neatly for the CEO’s assistant. Dahyun bows politely and says softly—“Good morning mam and sir.” Mrs. Park says—“Sit down Miss Kim.”She looks up from her resume and says—“Please introduce yourself,Miss kim.” Dahyun introduce her as—“Hello, myself Kim Dahyun, a 23 years young lady. I have just finished my graduation, and I am applying for my first internship opportunity. I want to learn sincerely and become someone who can contribute to the company.” Dahyun continues unaware that during her self-intro, the door behind her slowly opens. A tall figure steps in—calm, silent and confident. Neither Mrs. Park nor Mr. Min stand, even though they normally would. The man gives them a small gesture— a slight wave of his hand, sit down, continue. He stood near the door, arms crossed listening quietly. After the self introduction, Mrs. Park nodded politely and Mr. Min listen with interest, ready to ask the next question. But before they could speak, a deep, cold,‌ familier voice came from behind. He says while moving to the middle seat, the main seat, the CEO’s seat—“Nice introduction, Miss Kim. Please tell us why did you choose CrimsonCore Technology for your internship?” Dahyun froze, It was him. The man she argued just a while ago. Dahyun says in her mind—“What the hell is happening? Is he.....the CEO?Kang Seungmin? The man, now clearly the CEO, looked at her, waiting for an answer. Dahyun blink, forcing her to accept what she had done. Says—“I...I have always been interested in technology. How it connects people and changes the world. CrimsonCore Technology is one of the most inspiring companies in South Korea. I want to learn here and grow with it. The CEO leaned back in his chair. He says slowly almost like he is testing her—“So..., you think CrimsonCore Technology is inspiring? Even...after bumping into it's CEO, spilling coffee on him and throwing money at him.” A wave of silence hit the room. Mrs. Park and Mr. Min eyes widened, they glance at him awkwardly. Dahyun’s hands turned cold, replies in trembling voice—“I....I... Sir I admit my mistake. I was in hurry and my actions were careless. But my respect for this company is real. I didn't know who you were and I reacted emotionally. I'm sorry for that. But if I am right, so you also act coldly and rudely. You turned your question on my self-respect and personality.” The entire room meet silence once again. Mrs. Park’s and Mr. Min’s face turn pale. This is the first time someone questioned him or argue with him about his behaviour. Mr. Min says—“Miss Kim, do you know that you are talking to the CEO of this company, right?” Dahyun nodded politely—“Yes, sir I know. But I also believe that respect should go both sides.” CEO says with cold voice—“What if...we decide not to give you this job, Miss Kim?” As his words echo through the silent room, Mrs. Park and Mr. Min exchange a quick glance. They don't speak—but both are thinking the same thing. (She is different.) (Brave, confident...more capable than the others, we have seen today.) (She would be a good addition to the company, they think. Someone who is not even afraid to speak up to the CEO.) But neither of them dare to say it aloud to the CEO. Dahyun says confidently—“Then Mr. Kang, I'll take it as my loss, but atleast I would not lose myself.” Mrs. Park and Mr. Min are already impressed by her courage. They want her to be hire direct as an employee because of her skills and confidence. Then with a calm breath, Dahyun says—“If you are not going to give me this chance, then I'm leavin. That’s a great talk with you all. Thank you! So Mr. CEO, you keep your job, I keep my respect.” She stands, took her resume and turns towards the door.Just as she takes her first step towards the exit, a deep voice echoes through the silent room. “You are hired, Miss Kim.” Dahyun freezes, slowly turns back. Mr. Kang stood up, his gaze at her. He says walking closer—“Welcome to CrimsonCore Technology.” takes breath,“But don't think it's going to be easy.I will make sure your journey here will full of challenges. If you ever feel like giving up, you can leave anytime.” Dahyun lifted her chin, meeting his eyes fearlessly—“I’m not afraid of you, Mr. CEO.” He replies—“We will see about that.” Mrs. Park to Dahyun—“Young lady, you can join from Tommorow.” Dahyun replies happily—“Thank you!” (She leaves the interview room.)
