ALLISON Standing directly in front of me, I had to crane my neck back just to meet his gaze. That was the first time I truly registered his scale. I’d known he was tall, I’d assumed as much from watching him on the rooftop that fateful night, but up close, stripped of my defenses and chained to a wall, he was a monolith. He loomed over me, making me feel small, insignificant. And at 5’10, I was rarely the small one in the room. But then again, he wasn’t human. He was a predator in a human suit.
